I agree with Archie on this one. To let a child grow up and "decide for themselves" about religion is simply a cowards way. Does this include letting them grow up and decide for themselves if picking up a gun and killing someone is wrong? Or course not. A parents role is guidance not "wait and see". And honestly, the way Ediths character is drawn there is no way she would agree with Irene, Mike and Gloria. I felt sorry for old Arch on this one. And if Irene is a devout Catholic, there is no way she would agree either.

I agree with you Buddy, it is good to give the child a solid religious foundation.

I'll have to disagree, It wasn't up to Archie to take it upon himself to baptize Joey. That's up to the parents or up to Joey when he got older. My parents let me decide for myself, so when I got older I choice a different religion than my mom and dad but I went back to my roots when I got married.

Just because he was baptized, didn't mean Joey would end up Catholic. I do see what you're saying though. I guess it wasn't Archie to decide that.

Exactly, it'll be like if your parents were Muslim or something and taken your children without your permission and get them baptized in that religion. I would be beyond pissed off.

But Archie was being SOOOO HYPOCRITE by baptizing Joey. Here was Archie who was a racist and bigot. Where in Archie's catholic teaching did he learn that? He is worried abt his grandson if he isn't baptized and "what will happen".
