Apparently, there were rumors going around that Michelle Duggar - you know, the mom who churned out 16 kids [thus far] - is pregnant. And it has been confirmed.

Craziness. How many more is she going to have before she calls it quits? I can't help but admire the Duggar parents. I could never have the time or the energy to keep up with being a mom to 16 kids, let alone 17. :faint:

Yea...

Well, since she's done it so much, she probably doesn't feel pain anymore. It's gotta be like a slip n' slide by now. They're this far, if they're going for a record, they might as well go for it. I still don't see how they can manage to live without like huge donations contributed to them every year since only one parent gets a paycheck.

I remember hearing someplace that they are completely debt-free, but don't remember HOW this was achieved.

This page will answer any questions you may have, I hope:

They don't have their own show, but they have shot several documentaries. I know of one that was shot for Discovery Channel (the birth of their 15th child in 2004) and two more that were shot for TLC (their move-in and 16 children on vacation).

Yes, the Duggars built their house by themselves. They didn't have to pay anything else on their house because of this, which really helps when you've got 18 people total under one roof.

... that Wikipedia article made me cringe. Against birth control? Come ON. This is 2007, not 1957. All 16 kids homeschooled using Christian-based books? Sheltered.

I believe at one point her husband owned his own company and he sold it off for a pretty big chunk of money. So they aren't hurting for money, and plus I believe that she and her daughters make some of their own clothes.

She must get the most Mother's Day cards on her block.

That family OWNS the block. :)

I have seen their documentaries and so forth. Those children and the parents also appeared on Oprah. I will agree with what Oprah said. Those are thee most well behaved children I have ever seen. They all sat there for a photo shoot when they taped the Oprah show and when they were being interviewed, all the kids sat there. No fidgeting, no fighting, no moving around. Very well behaved kids. Kudos to that family for raising such great children.

The one thing that sprang to my mind immediately:

How the hell do Michelle and Jim Bob (snicker) get ANY private time? It's not that difficult to be quiet when you're having sex, but geez. With 16 children... *shakes head*

*snickers as well. Jim Bob...Arkansas...har har*

Anyway, they've HAD to have been walked in on. I mean, between closet monsters and puking, someone needed mommy in the middle of the night. And the kids are at school excuse doesn't work well.

What the HELL do these people have their own website for? Just because you have 16 kids, it doesn't make you special...

They're pretty damn unique. There are a lot of families with 10 kids, but it's even more rare to hear about families with more than 15 kids -- that is, that were NOT born during the baby boom of the mid-20th century. One of my dad's aunts had 15 kids (14 girls, 1 boy), but they were all born during the baby boom.

I still can't help but admire the hell out of the Duggars. They REALLY have it together.

They really do have it together. I have a five year old and I love it when he is at pre-k. God, it is QUIET TIME FOR ME! The Duggers and their children are so well-behaved, courteous, gracious and they help each other.
