View Full Version : Will anyone be recording off new Chiller TV channel? davidh_1973 02-15-2007, 02:56 PM I would love to try and get complete set of the new alfred hitchcock presents (1985) if anyone will be recording this or know how to get it. thanks mhadley 02-15-2007, 06:37 PM I will be getting this when it starts in March. I have quite a few AHP from the 1985 series if you are interested. http://www.rarevideosfortrade.com Anthony33 02-17-2007, 08:17 AM Woah cool, this channel starts in March? Will it be part of an existing package, like Encore or its own channel? How do I find out if it will be on my cable system? Rascal 02-17-2007, 08:06 PM From what I read it will be part of direct tv's package like the sleuth channel. They do have a website but all it says right now is coming soon. Anthony33 02-18-2007, 01:44 AM Does the sleuth channel have a website? And will anyone be recording Freddy's Nightmares? Rascal 02-18-2007, 10:16 AM Slueth channel does have a website that tells about its shows and the schedule. There is a link to chiller channel website from the press releases just nothing on there. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. BeefyBoyGod 02-18-2007, 12:24 PM Don't get your hopes up of getting a complete set of any show they air. They are following the same mold as Sleuth has been, which is to air the same block(usually 1/3 to 1/2 a series) on a loop at least three times, then take it off the channel. Anthony33 02-19-2007, 05:43 AM It looks like they'll also be showing the original Alfred Hitchcock Presents, will anyone be recording that show too? WalrusIsPaul 02-22-2007, 01:48 AM Anyone know if Comcast is gonna carry it? Or is this gonna be on most likely Directv and or Dish Network only? mhadley 02-22-2007, 02:14 AM It's directtv only. BeefyBoyGod 03-03-2007, 04:48 PM Edited. Every damn thing they've shown so far has been some edited syndicated version. **** on this channel. Anthony33 03-03-2007, 11:41 PM Anyone recording Freddy's Nightmares, as well as the original and new AHP series off this channel? mhadley 03-05-2007, 06:36 AM Also, for some reason, they are using the old B&W opening for the 80's Alfred Hitchcock Presents episodes rather then the actual opening used for that series (the one with the logo as razors being "traced"). Why the hell would you do that? Why use the old opening? When these same episodes aired on Scifi in the 90's the correct opening was used, and when they were aired on Space in Canada just a few years ago they had the correct openings. Why change it now? I was so looking forward to getting shows like AHP and Freddys Nightmares and Friday The 13th: The Series off this channel but I will stick with my original airings (the CORRECT versions) of shows like these I guess. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO JUST AIR SHOWS UNCUT? Damn it. http://www.rarevideosfortrade.com Lastdaysofrain 03-05-2007, 02:45 PM I think they just don't pay attention and utilize whatever masters they get from the syndicator. It's very rare that actual fans of the shows are in charge of their airing. I really wanted to see Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Night Gallery, two of my favorite shows. Also, Unsolved Mysteries is on another channel I can't get on Dish Network. Hopefully I will be ditching Dish Network in favor of DirecTV eventually. jtmovies91 03-07-2007, 12:20 AM I'm recording Alfred Hitchcock Presents-both the old and the new. BeefyBoyGod 03-07-2007, 02:38 PM They should be getting it soon, since they got Sleuth like two weeks after it debuted on DirecTV. You aren't missing alot, since everything is cut-down to an extent. wiseguy182 03-08-2007, 09:40 PM The Alfred Hitchcock Presents episodes from the '50's and 60's ran 25-26 minutes, so it's probably inevitable that they are going to be edited, since the standard nowadays is about 8 minutes of commercials per half hour of programming. While unedited is ideal, as long as they're not cutting out the most imporant scenes, it's probably the best we can hope for. wiseguy182 03-11-2007, 08:06 PM does anyone know how much if any is clipped off the Night Gallery and Alfred Hitchcock Presents episodes? just curious, I don't have this channel yet but would like to get it and might be getting it in the future. thanks. y2k3Joker 03-11-2007, 10:39 PM I've made a Alfred Hitchcock Presents dvd set from Canadian UNCUT broadcasts. Every episode averages ~ 25 minutes each, with commercials removed. It's an excellent set. http://www.freewebs.com/jokertv3/ahpmenu.jpg Anthony33 04-05-2007, 04:43 AM Has the episode "Hippocritic Oath" from the new Alfred Hitchcock Presents series aired yet on Chiller TV? If so, does anyone have a copy of it on DVD-R? Anthony33 lofan@msn.com |
