My college didn't cancel, even though the roads are horribly icy and will only get worse later  I swear, my school doesn't cancel unless it's a blizzard and you can't even get out of your driveway.

I spent about a half hour chiseling a thick sheet of ice off my car and warming it up, only to say 'F it' and decided not to go. I started to drive and realized how slippery the roads were (and how badly my little Beetle was handling it), so I decided not to risk it.

Now I have to take a '0' in Math because my Professor scheduled an exam for today and doesn't give make-ups, as well as miss my other classes (which I didn't want to do because I'm saving them for spring time when I go away).

Who else here had school/work today?

I had it, I didn't go.
It took me an hour to dig out of the driveway.

Nope, no school today. I would have had to go to work tonight because a grocery store never closes because of weather, but I was off today.

Awwww....sorry to hear about your class, Kristel.

I didn't go to work/classes today. My college and all of our required schoolings around here got cancelled for the day. We are usually not state to get too much snow often, so when there is some slickness/ice patches, we tend to have "snow days."

Same here. Over 450 schools closed, but not mine. I didn't end up going, either.

I didn't have school yesterday or today which was nice. Yesterday I had to go to work at Meijer at 5:30pm. I was supposed to leave at 10:00. Well....LOL...All the 3rd shift cashiers called off and only ONE person was going to stay to work the service department. I decided to stay with her, under the idea that we would get out of there around 4-5. Well then 25 people called off this morning and there were NO cashiers coming in. There were the 2 of us a grocery stocker and a GM Manager there. That's it. Finally the store director came in at 7am, found a stocker to do cashiering and brought in another manager, too. The two of us didn't clock out until 7:30. She was there for 16 1/2 hours, me for 14. IT SUCKED LOL.

The store should have just closed. There was hardly anyone there from 2am-6am. AND we had to go out during this fricken blizzard and push in carts lol.

It snowed up here, but not like the rest of you guys, and most certainly NOTHING like a Nor'Easter. And that was a few days ago when it snowed.

I'm off from school today, but that's because I don't have any Wednesday classes.

Our classes were cancelled yesterday. The weather was awful.

Today we started at noon...which was really useless. You'd think if they're opening the school late, they would have the roads and sidewalks cleared off by then. But my professor got stuck in the parking lot and showed up late and it was like climbing a mountain to get to class. And I get to do it again in like an hour. Awesome.

I had to go in and it took me an hour longer to get to work. The roads were horrible earlier.

We had a half inch of snow, max. (Bowling Green, KY).

Of course we had class today. Too bad, too - a test, three lectures (Physics, grr...), and a lab.

I hate Wednesdays.

Yeah, I went in even though there was about 8-9 inches on the ground. The roads were snow covered but at least they were not too slippery. We did have some call offs, but kudos to my company. To thank us all for braving the elements to come to work, we were all treated to pizza. :D So it wasn't as bad as it might have been.

We got like 5 inches on Tuesday and those bastards still made us go. We really needed a delay, but noooo....
