Does everyone think N@N will air the mores serious episodes, like when that guy wants to kill himself on Christmas, or when Mike's friend want to kill herself, or when Carol's boyfriend dies in the car crash? I really hope they air every single episode. I remember they wouldn't air the more serious Diff'rent Strokes, or Facts of Life episodes years ago.

you are correct, they did NOT air some of the serious episodes for Diff'rent Strokes or Facts of Life (with the exception of an occasional few that they showed only once) but that was before they started to have roseanne on the line up.... and let's face it, roseanne has a TON of episodes based on the same topics that DS of FOL touched on but didn't play. I think that nick at nite has overcome their need to avoid certain episodes becuase of the content or what not. So i think that they will play the episodes, and one i was surprised you didn't suggest was the Thank God its Friday (or somethign along those lines) where mike is tempted to try cocain at a party. I still dont understand why nick at nite didn't show the DS or FOL ones when they were done to help kids understand that it's ok to go against the peer pressure. Now i can't say for sure that Nick at Nite will play the more serious episodes of Growing Pains, but i sure can hope based on the logic that Roseanne basically shows kids it's ok to have sex or do drugs and so on... Growing Pains shows that you dont have to sit and let your problems build up inside of you or give into what your friends are doing... so lets just hope they'll play them! :)

OMG!!! I can't believe I forgot about Mike and the cocaine!!! I'm seeing the scene in my head right now, lmao. And I agree with all your points about Roseanne and Nick@Nite. If they can bend the rules for her, I sure hope they could for the Seaver clan as well. :)

And like you said about the Diff'rent Strokes and Facts Of Life episodes, they more or less taught us, and were made in a positive way. N@N should have shown those episodes.

yeup, i saw it! (even though i already have it on tape from abc family) but that means they'll play the others, in their schedule for the marathon that got cancelled it has the reason to live episode and such, so i dont think they're gonna skimp out on us ;)

I watched the Mike peer pressure episode. I remember seeing that episode years ago.
When I watched the Cocaine episode last week, I forgot just how serious Mike became. And his scene with Jason at the end was nice. He just hugged him, without saying anything. It seemed real. Sometimes the most powerful moments are when nothing is even said. I don't know why, but I never remembered Mike being that serious. I always thought he turned the scene goofy, but I guess not. It was a pretty serious episode, and Kirk did a great job....It was also funny to see Kristy Swanson at such a young age.

in the nick at nite episode, did they show the end where kirk comes out to "talk" and tells the viewers that if your friends are pressuring to use drugs when you dont want to, maybe they're not your friends... and that he's not getting paid to say that, that's how he really feels?

Is it me or did anyone else see that an episode Full House is taking place during the one of the spots where it says that Growing Pains is supposed to be?

Yes!! I am very upset about that, I'm so sick of Full House being on 10 times a day. This & next week, Growing Pains is on ONCE A DAY!! I don't know what's going on with Nick at Nite.

I noticed that, too. I thought "they're already reducing the airings down to ONE episode a night?" and don't forget their airing a TV-14 MOVIE this tuesday.

Anyone know where I can write and complain to Nick@Nite? Cause this is NOT HBO or USA network.

Full House is not on 10 times a day.

I couldn't agree more, EVERY time i turn on the tv, full house is on some channel, I actually USED to enjoy that show when I was younger and when it first went into syndication, but now it is ridiculous. Also, how come they can show full house on like 5 channels, but some shows only one channel has the right to, I don't understand that.

I never liked growing pains until that nick at nite marathon a couple weeks ago. I really got into it and actually started liking it. Now I actually want to watch it, and I swear they said its on at 9 and 12, but everytime i turn nick on, its like fresh prince or something else. Lame.

YAY!!!!! WE got a converter!!!!! Welcome aboard!!!!! It's great to know that we captivated people through the marathon!! It means that we might have a chance to actually save the show! :) :)

And whoever was asking about writing to nick at nite, go to their message boards under programing for nick at nite and post a HUGE complain (they actually do listen sometimes ;)) maybe we should all participate in this so-called thread on the boards over there!!

I think they will. I don't think any episode from "Growing Pains" is as controversial as some Facts of Life, Diff'rent Strokes, or All In the Family eps.

Does anyone else think that N@N is gonna cancel Growning Pains? When they started showing it in February they showed a week long marathon since then they have showed an hour a night and now they only show an episode a night. Im afraid they wont be showing it for much longer.

If its not Roseanne, Fresh Prince, or Cosby then most likely it will get crappy treatment.

Remember they brought News Radio to N@N and I think I saw like a few episodes and never at a decent hour either
Different World crammed in commercial ads but when is it shown?
Designing Women lasted what 10 min. after the marathon...

You can bet Growing Pains will be in the trash soon enough cause of the new shows they are bringing in this fall and right now all they have are marathons of the 3 shows the dominate this channel rotating every night, and a marathon of Fresh Prince next week...

Yup!

"Heather987"

just doesn't make any sense to me what so ever?? Why not show a variety of shows? rather then heavy on the roseanne and fresh prince? Perhaps since growing pains is new to nick, they should play 2-3 episodes of G.P. a night and cut back roseanne to 1 or 2 instead of 100 epsisodes of roseanne in a row! That show has been on heavy rotation for 5+ years now on nick.

Whats worse is almost the entire Roseanne series has been released on retail DVD. Any and all die hard fans would have purchased these dvd's. Where growing pains has only a season 1 dvd release. you think nick would wake up and say "HELLO! THIS GIVES US A CHANCE TO AIR SOMETHING NEW!"

Roseanne must pull in some big numbers or something? But seriously, to play it that often for as long as they have, we get sick of it! It didn't even do this well when it originaly aired in the 90's. did it?

NOT that im knocking Roseanne because it is a good show, but enough is enough! we need some fresh blood. I thought that G.P. would be that fresh blood. apparently not.

It did pretty well, better than Fresh Prince
