I'm sick of winter, I'm lonely on Valentine's Day, and there's little to do. And this year I'm out of work for this month!

Valentine's Day is depressing

I don't know much about St. Valentine, but I can only assume he was the patron saint of overpriced greeting cards.

I've always hated February. Valentine's Day has become such a commercial holiday. People start dating just to have someone on Valentine's Day, then break up soon afterwards. It's so stupid. I may just be jealous though because this will be my 20th Valentine's Day alone. I'm always single on Valentine's Day. :(

I'm not single and Valentine's Day is still stupid. Love me more just one day a year.

and HA! to the bakery thing and Courtnee's take on St. Valentine.

I think everyone can agree that February sucks on a variety of levels, which is why it's probably it's the shortest month.

Feb. is actually one of my favorite months.
1. B/c we have a lot of day off's from school
2. There's always good dvd releases
3. Lots of birthdays to celebrate

So its basically a kick back month for me. Sorry you're having a bad month.

By the way, Black History Month was started as Negro History Week in the third week of February 1926 by the balck historian Carter G. Woodson. February is Black History Month because Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass were both born in February, not becasue it's the shortest month. Similar, March is Women's History Month because Interational WOmen's Day, honoring the anniverseary of a female labor rally, is in March (March 8), not because March is a temperamental month. So not everything is a conspiracy.

Oh yeah, I think September is Hispanic Heritage Month because Mexico won its independence in September.

Since I don't have a Valentine I have a feeling that I am going to feel lonely this Wednesday. I used to love being single, but over the last couple of months I've begun to realize how lonely I really am.

I guess since I been older than 25, Valentine's Day don't get to me like it used to. When I was a Teenager that's when it would bother me because the school would have things like Valentine's Day Dance. But now I can care Less-lol

I am completely indifferent about Valentine's Day, too; even when I am in a relationship, this holiday is not that big of a deal!
Same here. It's just an excuse to overdo the pink and red, sell a year's worth of greeting cards in a month, and over charge on flowers and food. So big deal.

Of course, I'm sitting here eating a heart-shaped cookie.... lol

I wouldn;t go overboard at all, I would serve my girl some heart shape chicken nuggets on a Red paper plate with fries and some delicous juice in a Red Cup followed by a foot massage and telling her how much she means to me

LOL

Me too, I just met the most wonderful girl - an Englishwoman living in Manhattan - but she's already taken. We're friends, but I rarely see her and I wish I'd met her when she was available. And now I might even have to give up my friendship with her because my mom is ready to quit the Greater New York Metro area to avoid high property taxes and move to someplace like Nebraska! So if I think I'm lonely now. . . . :(

Imagine February in Nebraska.

I'm 27 and have spent every Valentine's alone. But I agree with Solomon; it is such a blatant commercial for the candy and flower companies. It used to get to me when I was younger but now I could care less. I have my family and my job. I enjoy my space and independence. Sure, I'd love to get married but only if it's to the right one, and I'm determined not to settle.

Don't get me wrong...there is one special guy in my life who gets all my kisses and love. He loves me just as much, I believe. But I have long hair and he loves to grab it. *Sigh*

The guy in question is my 8-month-old nephew. Well, nobody's perfect. :D

Could you put some of that snow on the Sierra Nevada and San Gabriel Mountatins? We could use it out here...
