- Battle of the Domestic Divas Stunt
Sunday, April 29, 2007
8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET/PT
It’s that time of year! Winters over, and as Spring begins it’s time to go through all the old stuff, get down on your hands and knees and do a major cleaning – one that you dread, but luckily happens only once a year. How will two of our favorite Domestic Divas of TV Land deal with this cleaning … will they get it all done? Will they miss a spot? It's Aunt Bea vs. Florence Johnston!
8p Andy Griffith Show #138 – The Pagaent
Aunt Bee wants the starring role in the Mayberry Centennial Pageant. Andy and Opie are neglected at home.
8:30p The Jeffersons #31 – Florence’s Problem
A life and death situation grips the Jefferson household! The first hint of the impending bombshell comes when Florence, the acid-tongued maid, cleans the house in a way it’s never been clean before!
9p Andy Griffith Show #236 – The Mayberry Chef
The head of a local TV station enlists Aunt Bee to do a nightly cooking show, having heard about her cooking. Although she may not exude great professionalism, she has that extra "naturalness" that they're looking for. But her main concern is that someone suitable is cooking for Andy and Opie during her absence each evening. Unable to find someone, but not wanting Aunt Bee to back out of this opportunity, Andy (with Opie) maintains the pretense that a "Mrs. Parkinson" is on the job. Andy actually does the cooking -- to his and Opie's mutual gastric discomfort. After 2 days on the job, Aunt Bee shows unusual quickness of mind in seeing through the charade and finding a resolution.
9:30p The Jeffersons #39 – Louise Gets Her Way
George can hardly stand Florence once a week, so when Louise hires her as a live-in maid, it really hits the fan.
(M*A*S*H follows from 10-11pm)
Pavan 02-14-2007, 12:45 AM Thread is now open!

icecream 02-14-2007, 05:03 PM ***EVERYNIGHT WILL NOW BE ON THE CLOCK (NORMAL TIMES)!***
It's about time!!! :D
JulieSomoski 02-15-2007, 04:27 PM I would have to agree about MASH replacing The Jeffersons on Saturdays. It was a great time to pick up a lot of new viewers, and I enjoyed watching it every Saturday at this time. Now MASH just seems to be taking over the entire schedule. It really sucks, especially if you don't enjoy watching MASH.
Scoobiedoo30 02-21-2007, 03:35 PM I am glad that TV Land late Night Programming will be starting on time
storrs19 03-01-2007, 09:06 AM I'll believe it when I see it...or rather someone tells me about it as I don't watch TVLand anymore.

Pavan 03-09-2007, 11:37 AM One change for April:
Weekends effective April 7
8:00AM Green Acres (replaces Flip Wilson)
8:30AM The Munsters (replaces Green Acres)
BensonFan 03-09-2007, 11:43 AM Oh great. Friday Night movies again.
Wonder why that change? Guess Flip Wilson can be added to the swelling list of shows on hiatus.
So will Munsters be 8:30 AND 9:30 on weekends?
JulieSomoski 03-09-2007, 05:45 PM For The Munsters not even on the schedule yet, they are really relying on it to do well. It is on way too many times a day, when other shows that are not on the schedule could be.
Pavan 03-09-2007, 06:29 PM Yes, Munsters 8:30 and 9am on weekends starting April 7.
Chelsea 03-09-2007, 06:32 PM Shows remaining on the network I care about, with Flip Wilson gone:
Jeffersons
MASH
Good Times
Three's Company
I don't like this, at all. Starting to make the new, "family", N@N scheduling look creative and interesting.
For The Munsters not even on the schedule yet, they are really relying on it to do well. It is on way too many times a day, when other shows that are not on the schedule could be.They are airing it quite a bit. I guess it must be doing well for them once again, it always has I think..
friendsfan77 03-09-2007, 08:19 PM blech, looks like another month of TVLand I won't be watching
Scoobiedoo30 03-10-2007, 01:42 AM this is great news that reen Acres is going to air at 7:00 am Central Time and The Munsters at 7:30 am Central Time
Scoobiedoo30 03-12-2007, 03:15 PM That schedule sounds good for April

Scoobiedoo30 03-21-2007, 12:31 AM I guess I will not be watching The TV Land Awards this year since it is on a Sunday Night
Pavan 03-21-2007, 10:43 AM There are plenty of encore airings of the award show. See first post for days and times.
Since TVL moved the Awards to Sunday, April 22...the Best Episodes MASH marathon has been canceled from April 21-24. Now, TV Land will air an Andy Griffith marathon leading up to the awards instead on April 21-22. So, this MASH marathon will NOT happen:

Saturday, April 21
9p #1 - The Pilot
At the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (M.A.S.H) unit in Korea, two army doctors by the names of Hawkeye Pierce and Trapper John McIntyre receive some exciting news in the mail. Their Korean house boy, Ho-John got accepted into Hawkeye's old college. Hawkeye and Trapper decide to hold a party filled with music, dancing, and alcohol to raise money for Ho-John's plane trip to the U.S. They achieve this by raffling off a weekend pass with a nurse, Lieutenant Dish for R&R in Tokyo.
9:30p #7 - Bananas, Crackers and Nuts
When Henry goes for some R&R, Hawkeye pretends to crack up so that Frank will let him and Trapper go on some R&R.
10p #32 - The Trial Of Henry Blake
Majors Houlihan and Burns press charges against Colonel Blake to get him arrested and put Frank in charge, and put Hawkeye and trapper under arrest so that they can't help him. Fortunately for Henry, they escape, and with the aid of Meg Cratty come to the rescue.
10:30p #35 - Carry On Hawkeye
The camp succumbs to the Asian flu, except for Hawkeye and Margaret, who have to do everything themselves. As the others start to recover, Hawkeye falls ill but he still manages to operate when wounded arrive. Finally the others are well enough for Hawkeye to stop working and rest. He is thanked for his service with a commemorative roll of toilet paper.
Sunday, April 22
9p #037 - Deal Me Out
Sidney Freedman comes to the camp, and joins in the poker game at The Swamp. Radar hits a local with a jeep, although the local is famous for jumping in front of vehicles for the compensation. Hawkeye and Trapper operate on an intelligence officer against regulations. Sidney helps talk around a soldier who wants to kill Frank. John Ritter Guest Stars.
9:30p #53 - O.R..
The OR is filled with more wounded than the unit can handle. Hawkeye does heart massage on a soldier, which saves his life, but he dies four hours later. Sidney Freedman drops in during the deluge, and is dragged into the fray by Hawkeye.
10p #57 - Alcoholics Unanimous
Henry's departure to Tokyo leaves Major Burns in charge of the 4077th. He declares total prohibition of alcohol, which leads to a near riot amongst the camp, especially from Hawkeye and Trapper.
10:30p #60 - A Full Rich Day
Hawkeye records a letter to his dad, detailing the exploits of a mad Turkish soldier who calls Hawkeye a "damn good Joe," the unfortunate loss of the corpse of a Luxembourg soldier (who turns out not to be dead), Lt. Henri-Batiste LeClerc, and of a gun-happy officer.
Monday, April 23
9p #63 - Bombed
The camp is under fire and is swamped with wounded. They are being attacked by their own artillery in a frightening "friendly fire" incident. Trapper and Margaret get trapped in the Supply Tent together. Frank's jealousy of Trapper drives him to propose to Margaret.
9:30p #73 Welcome To Korea, Part 1 of 2
Trapper is shipped home while Hawkeye is on R&R. Hawkeye speeds to Kimpo with Radar to catch Trapper's plane, but they just miss him. While they are there, they pick up BJ Hunnicut and take him back to camp. On the way back, BJ is introduced to the Korean War.
10p #74 - Welcome To Korea, Part 2 of 2
Trapper is shipped home while Hawkeye is on R&R. Hawkeye speeds to Kimpo with Radar to catch Trapper's plane, but they just miss him. While they are there, they pick up BJ Hunnicut and take him back to camp. On the way back, BJ is introduced to the Korean War.
10:30p #105 - Dear Sigmund
Sidney Freedman, feeling depressed, visits the 4077th to observe how they fare under the pressures of war. He begins a letter to Sigmund Freud as a form of self-therapy, and releases his tension in the form of a practical joke with B.J., aimed at Frank Burns.
11p #164 - Inga
It's instant attraction for Hawkeye when a beautiful Swedish doctor, called Inga, arrives to observe combat surgery. That is, until she upstages him in the operating room with a superior technique, and his ego is bruised.
Tuesday, April 24
9p #123 - Fade Out, Fade In, Part 1 of 2
After Maj. Margaret Houlihan-Penobscott leaves for her honeymoon, Maj. Frank Burns becomes very distraught, so Potter sends him on R&R. As they deal with the physical and psychological wounds in a heavy load of casualties, members of the 4077th wonder why Maj. Burns is late in returning from R&R and why Margaret returned from her honeymoon in a deep funk. Soon they learn that Maj. Burns has been arrested for antics with a general and his wife in Seoul; later, Hawkeye and BJ will discover that Margaret has already encountered marital troubles. Radar gets a temporary replacement for Maj. Burns: a Major Charles Emerson Winchester III. Maj. Winchester arrives at the 4077th, only to painfully discover that he's the permanent replacement after Frank Burns is thoroughly examined, uncannily acquitted, undeservingly promoted (to Lt. Colonel!!!), and quickly transferred to a VA hospital in Indiana. The Eye Of The Hawk and Beej struggle with Charles' conceit about his professionalism in OR, but they discover that he can take it as well as dish it out when it comes to practical jokes!

Pavan 04-05-2007, 01:13 AM Interesting Variety article:
TV Land, the network to go to for old TV series ranging from "Gunsmoke" and "Bonanza" to "Mash" and "The Munsters," has scheduled the first movie night in its 11-year history.
"We want to broaden the boundaries of our programming lineup," said Jaclyn Cohen, senior VP of programming and acquisitions for TV Land. "Friday Night Movies" is the umbrella title, kicking off this month with, in successive weeks, "White Men Can't Jump," "Weekend at Bernie's" and "Basic Instinct."
TV Land may be hoping that the movies shake things up. Its lineup of golden-oldie series has begun to slump in the Nielsens. For the first quarter, TV Land's primetime lineup fell off by 10% in total viewers, by 37% in people 18 to 34, by 14% in 18-49 and by 12% in its demographic target of 25 to 54.
The first batch of movies Cohen has bought are comedies, with forthcoming titles like "Caddyshack," "National Lampoon's Vacation," "The Blues Brothers," "Beetlejuice" and "Young Frankenstein."
TV Land will pay small dollars in license fees for these titles because most of them are older pictures that have run constantly on various cable networks over the years. Also, TV Land will get the movies for short windows, sometimes only a couple of weeks, allowing the studios to keep the money flowing in by selling the titles to other networks.
Cohen said TV Land will not seek to buy theatricals in their first network window because of their high cost. TV Land doesn't need fresh movies because its viewers are used to watching old reruns. The newest picture in the first batch of TV Land purchases is the 1998 "Pleasantville," tailor made for the network in its theme of a contemporary family thrust back, through their TV set, into the artificial black-and-white landscape of a 1950s sitcom.
TV Land has bought movies from all of the major studios, and Cohen says the network is committed to keeping the Friday-night franchise running at least through 2010.
TVJunkie101 04-05-2007, 09:27 AM I personally love the idea of TV Land movies and don't see why everyone dislikes them. It's not like they are monopolizing the lineup.

THE LEGACY OF LAUGHTER AWARD
This award is presented to honor an entertainer whose awe-inspiring work continues to serve as an inspiration and a guiding force: Lucille Ball. Her comedy always delivered, from the broadest slapstick to the most nuanced verbal reaction. Her gift is indeed a legacy. It serves as both an ideal for those who have followed her, and also in and of itself - timelessly providing the invigorating, healing power of laughter.
Named by TV Guide as the "Greatest TV Star of All Time", Lucille Ball's groundbreaking work in film and television continues to touch the funny bone of viewers all over the world. Lucille Ball was born in Jamestown, NY in 1911 and always wanted to make her mark in entertainment. She entered a New York City drama school and later landed a coveted RKO contract which brought her roles in Top Hat, The Big Street and Too Many Girls - the motion picture where she met and fell in love with her husband and I Love Lucy co-star Desi Arnaz. Today, I Love Lucy is one of the most successful and longest running programs in television syndication. Lucy was not only a comedy genius but a power to be reckoned with behind the camera. With her business prowess she laid the groundwork for many of today's innovative television production methods. In 1951, she became the first woman to run her own production company - Desilu -- that produced such television hits as Star Trek, The Andy Griffith Show, Mission Impossible and Mannix. From shooting I Love Lucy on film with three cameras to the creation of re-runs during her real-life pregnancy to starting a successful syndication model, she was truly one of television's first major players.
THE ANNIVERSARY AWARD
The legacy of Roots, the 1977 mini-series, hardly needs any further paeans, but it is nonetheless fitting, and TV Land's honor -- to celebrate this epic that 30 years ago gathered Americans in extraordinary numbers for an unforgettable communal television experience. A series full of anguish and terror, redemption and hope, Roots was and is extraordinary television in every way.
Alex Haley's best-selling novel which was loosely based on his family's struggle in America was brought to television in 1977, Roots remains one of the most watched programs in the history of American television. The mini- series aired on ABC over an unprecedented six nights and chronicled Haley's ancestor Kunta Kinte, who was abducted from his village home in Gambia and brought to the United States in 1767 as a slave. Roots was nominated for over 25 awards and won the 1977 Golden Globe for Best Drama Series as well as 12 Emmy Awards.
THE POP CULTURE AWARD
Presented to a show that has crossed the line from television series to pop culture phenomenon, this year's honoree is The Brady Bunch. Like almost no other show before or since, this series transcended its humble origins as a Friday night family viewing staple, to become a television touchstone for not one generation, but many.
The Brady Bunch remains one of the most beloved sitcoms in American TV history and is a true Boomer pop culture icon. The show which premiered on ABC in 1969 centered on the newly blended family of widower Mike Brady, father of three young boys and young widow, mother of three daughters, Carol. Together Mike and Carol Brady faced the everyday trials and tribulations raising six adolescent children - from first dates to braces to sibling rivalries. With the help of amazing fans, The Brady Bunch continues to hold a special place in the hearts of many Americans. Nearly 40 years after its premiere, the show can still be seen everyday on television -- somewhere in the world.
THE MEDALLION AWARD
This award is presented to a television series which has stood the test of time and ranks among the most memorable and celebrated shows in TV history. TV Land will honor Taxi as this year's recipient. At times heartfelt, at other times hilarious, the series was a prime example of the magic of a talented cast of individuals melding into an ensemble - a creative whole that was greater than the sum of its wonderful parts.
Taxi premiered on ABC in 1978 and later moved to the rival network, NBC in 1982 where it finished it run. In just five seasons on the air, Taxi garnered 14 Emmy Awards. The show followed the lives of a group of New York City cab drivers at the Sunshine Cab Company. Each cabbie had their own aspiration to do more with their lives than just drive a cab but changing their lot in life was never that easy. With a strong writing team to support them, this rich comedy ensemble cast including Danny DeVito, Judd Hirsch, the late Andy Kaufman, Marilu Henner and Tony Danza tackled many dramatic issues like failed marriages, blindness, drug addiction and sexual harassment - all from a very hilarious viewpoint.
THE ENTERTAINER AWARD
This award is presented to a television series that formed a bond with its devoted audience, becoming a cherished appointment full of characters and performances that we welcomed into our homes each week. Coffeecup 04-05-2007, 05:24 PM I will probably tune in to the Awards but I am not a fan of Kelly. Also I wish tvland wouldn't have those pop ups with Kelly during a show telling the public the award show is coming.
Pavan 04-05-2007, 06:08 PM TV Land has schedule these one-time-only airings:
Thursday, April 19 (early Friday)

Sunday, April 29
7:30AM The Brady Bunch #3
No idea why, but they will air on those dates only.
gilligan fanatic 04-06-2007, 09:45 AM Pavan, he wasn't listed, but do you think that Sherwood Schwartz (The creator of the Brady Bunch) will be at the TV Land Awards? He has been on a lot of TV Land specials and was at the second award ceremony. I was suprised to see his name not listed, but I am sure there will be a lot of people there who aren't annouced.

TVJunkie101 04-15-2007, 10:39 AM I didn't watch last year, but this years sounds like a blast. I might just watch.
Pavan 04-15-2007, 12:45 PM I hear the awards were the best since the first one. Kelly Ripa was the best host since John Ritter.
TVJunkie101 04-15-2007, 01:42 PM Good to hear and come to think of it, I don't think I've watched ANY of the awards since John Ritter was the host.
I'm definitely going to watch this years.
I don't care what other people say, I think Kelly Ripa makes a great host.
Pavan 04-15-2007, 01:46 PM I have watched every year, but the hosts since John were not too good. Brad Garrett was OK and Cedric and Mullally were bad. The content in the show was good though every year, especially the hilarious spoofs.
JulieSomoski 04-16-2007, 04:01 PM I agree, but again, John Ritter was definitely the best host. I always love the spoofs . . .
Scoobiedoo30 04-23-2007, 07:21 PM :trio I am going to watch The TV Land Awards from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm
