Which characters from your favorite sitcoms & movies dressed up as the opposite sex?

On Happy Days, Ritchie & Potsie dressed up as girls and went to a dance. The
Fonz, thinking Ritchie was a girl, danced with him & started blowing in his ear.
I always get a good laugh out of that one.

Of course there's the king of the crossdressers, Maxwell Q. Klinger from M*A*S*H.

It is interesting to note that the cross-dressing roles that are accepted are men dressing as females. When you see a woman dressing as a man it is freaky. Check out Lucy & Ethel or Roseanne.

There are probably more.

Fran on The Nanny dressed up like a man to get into a gentlemans club where
Maxwell was, and she did look pretty odd. Wonder why women don't come out as well in the transfer?

On "Alice," Alice (Linda lavin) had a male alias who showed up on a few episodes.

Anyone remember his name?

Don't forget Scott Baio's transformation to a woman twice and Willie Aames once in Charles In Charge. Charles was one ugly woman to be in a woman's meeting and Aames was the prettiest woman out of the whole group.

Don't forget Mr. Belvedere famous cross-dressing episode...those two couldn't pass for old women at all. I mean, the mustache is a giveaway...hehehehehe...

Thank you for remembering that. I thought I was the only crazy person to remember her with a beard; it did stick in my mind. I looked at the episode guide but didn't see it. It is a creepy memory.

It could have been worse.

They could have named you Igor, or Zale, or Rizzo.

Wow! So, I'm "Jamie" 'cause my parents' favorite character was Klinger on MASH. My brother is "Jeff" from Igor! And, if I ever breed, I want to name a kid Max after Klinger...maybe it's all hereditary!

Also on Laverne & Shirley, the girls dressed up like guys so they could go into
a pool hall's restroom and erase their name & number from the wall. This was
pretty funny too.

I was wondering when did Laverne and Shirley cross Dress as Guy's

Don't forget the infamous cross-dressing of Rick Shrodder in Silver Spoons or Saved By The Bell's Mark-Paul Gosselaar's as either the "woman" with the southern accent that Screech found pretty or in disguise when the gang talks about Zack Morris in general....

I don't know which season it was on. But this guy named Hector kept asking
the girls out and they kept making up excuses not to go out with him and he
got mad and wrote their name & number on the mens wall at that pool hall.
So thats why they dressed as guys, so they could go in & erase it.

Dave dressed up like a woman for a Halloween party on "NewsRadio." Of course that goes back to Dave Foley's days on The Kids in the Hall, where he cross-dressed often for a sketch.

Adam dressed like a woman in an episode of "Ellen." He had entered a contest and won, but found out the contest was for women. So he dressed up like one, but it didn't work out. lol

I'm seeing Jack Tripper in drag a couple times. Once as Chrissy Snow and another as "Grandma."

On "The Monkees" I believe when the series was over, all four Monkees at one point had dressed like a woman.

I remember a Saved by the Bell episode when Jesse dresses up like an old man and Zack dresses up as an old woman to spy on a date between Slater and an old girlfriend of his.

And the scary part was that he actually looked good!

No one could out-crossdress Klinger. He was the crossdressing man!

Family Matters - Jaleel White crossed dress to play another character his cousin Mrytle, and Laura dressed like a guy once she found out the dealer was sexist so she can buy a car for a lower price.

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - Carlton modeled a dress he and Will put together

On Bewitched, Darrin was transformed into a "grandma" by Sam to protect him from their neighbor's jealous boyfriend. He had a gray bun, shawl and full length granny dress on. Hilarious!!

On Amen, Deacon Frye and Rev. Gregory dressed in drag as female Army officers to get to Thelma's barracks. Sherman Hemsley makes one ugly woman.

On Saved by the Bell, Screech also dressed in drag a few times, once as a new girl named "Barbara Bush".

That was in the first season ep, "Pleasure O'Reilly". Danger was in the ep with the warlock George (also in Season 1). Both great episodes, btw.

Fun facts: Kipp Hamilton, who played Pleasure, was Carol Burnett's sister-in-law in real life at the time (Carol's husband was Joe Hamilton), and Beverly Adams (Danger) went on to marry Vidal Sassoon!!

OH!! How could I forget?? :wallbang On Barney Miller, the guys would occasionally dress in drag to patrol the park. In the second season episode "Heat Wave", you saw Gregory Sierra (:eyes: ), Max Gail and Abe Vigoda in dresses. Wojo actually got attacked and came back in the precinct with his wig and dress ripped to shreds. It was a funny moment.

the most famous one is, of course, Klinger on MASH and AFTER MASH (in the second season, when they were trying to get the ratings back up to where they were in the first season).
But; there was also Barney on TAGS once, John Ritter on THE LOVE BOAT once, and some of the guys on BARNEY MILLER once, and that's all I can think of right now.

On Season 1 of Gilligans Island, Gilligan put on Ginger's and Maryann's dresses. He looked kind of cute in Maryann's dress.

On What's Happening Now!!, Raj dressed like a woman to allude the FBI. That was pretty funny. Also, on 227 Mary and Sandra dressed as men to get into Lester's awards ceremony. Chris Rock also dressed as his sister in an episode of Fresh Prince.

On The Andy Griffith Show, Barney dressed up as a little old lady, he even wore a ladies hat. I believe he was in disguise to catch a criminal.

On I Dream of Jeannie, Jeannie transformed herself into a man many times so nobody would know who she was. Once she transformed herself into a chef named Pedro, he was big and fat with a mustache. Another time she transformed herself into a chinese houseboy. Another time she transformed herself into a weather expert, a big fat guy, one of the other things she transformed herself into was a boat salesman named Sven. She even turned herself into a colonel to save Dr. Bellows.
They were all very funny but kind of creepy. Knowing that this beautiful woman could change herself into an ugly man or just a man in general.

On an episode of the Munsters Grandpa turned himself into a beautiful woman to make Lily jealous. Lily got a job as a model and to make her quit, Grandpa made Herman into a southern millionaire and himself into a beautiful woman. It worked and Lily quit. On that same episode Eddie took the potion and he himself became a girl. It was funny. :D

On Three's Company, John dressed as a woman twice. Once in the season 4 premiere, when he was trying to escape from the police, and the infamous "Grandma Tripper" episode, where he dressed as an old woman to win a cookie contest.

And in Roseanne, Roseanne dressed as a lumberjack in one of the Halloween episodes.

The Facts of Life.

Jo liked wearing Men Suits/Men Clothes. Not for comedy fodder or as a costume, but because that's just who she was. She was the most comfortable in that gear.

Natalie dressed up as Charlie Chaplin (as a costume).
