What I'm trying to say everyone is that The site is not like it was when i first gained access to the web in my apt-2003, 2004. Irene gave LIFE to the TV board in 05 but it seemd to be falling off again. Solomon is sad:(

i think the reason chit chat is starting to get less active and is noticably less active then it was 2-3 years ago is because the veteran members are starting to get older and have less time to come online and chat here, and there's been a limited amount of new members since around 2005.

Well, I think we are about due for another wave of 11-, 12- and 13-year-old members. A large amount of people in that group registered here at SO in 2001 and again, three years later, in 2004. It's been three years since 2004, so I'm sure we'll have another wave of younguns registering soon enough. :)

The novelty has worn off. It's not just you, it happens to everyone. When someone first joins, it's new and exciting so you're posting just everywhere, but when you've been here for so long, you've seen almost everything, it doesn't excite you as much anymore. It's normal.

Another thing you have to realize Solomon is that as far as the 70 and 80s sitcoms, me personally, I have talked everything there is to talk about. Like Good Times and Sanford and Son and the Jeffersons, I can't think of anything to post about. I have talked those shows out. Stop trying to force thread on those boards because I notice that is what you are trying to do. TV land has buned those shows out to the point where I don't want to watch them anymore, and I have all the DVDs. Let conversation come to you. As far as the 80s boards, none of those boards have been busy since I got here anyway so they basically been dead to me from the get go. I do notice the Chit-Chat board here is dying. But hey, you probably don't want to hear this, but we all have lives, and I do post on other websites. if it weren't for the NFL, I probably would have been really inactive. As far as the NBA, I use to be a real big fan, but the intensity isn't there anymore. It is too indiviualized and I like to see teams. Not Shaq vs. Kobe every Christmas. I stopped following the NBA about 3 years ago.

I think that's it. When I joined in 2003 I couldn't wait to come to this site. I would spend 4 or 5 hours a night just posting and some nights in Random we'd even pull alnighters. Now I still come every day almost but I don't post as much and the only boards I have post on the most lately have been in Random and the Sports Board.

What the heck does politics have to do with anything? Oh yeah, nothing. Way to twist things around. Fact is, TP under the old regime was bad. Gang ups happened all the time. Bullying was the happening on a daily basis. When the posts were FINALLY moderated and the bullying stopped, people got bored and left. Ah well, no big loss really.

You got that right. Never saw anything like it in my life. There isn't a board on this site including the politics board where gangups are allowed. Over there a thread would go on for days with endless lectures berating a person over something as stupid as using vhs tapes. Or members got into board issues that didn't concern them. If the mods weren't participating in the gangups they would disappear and show up at the end for one big lecture, then lock it.

I'm not going another round with the TP and CC. Please end this discussion.
