Everyone knows that a season by season boxed sets won't get released. But my question is if one more DVD boxed set would get released what would you prefer?

View Full Version : Poll: What best of Boxed set would you like next? BibleCode06 02-07-2007, 06:51 PM Everyone knows that a season by season boxed sets won't get released. Dislimb 02-07-2007, 08:11 PM Bizarre Murders Vol. 2 greatgarrett2 02-07-2007, 08:14 PM Bizarre Murders Vol. 2 Second that.....:) Huskerz85 02-07-2007, 08:20 PM Bizarre Murders Vol. 2 :thumbsup::thumbsup: LooksLikeCRicci 02-07-2007, 09:03 PM Yep, me too. I'm all for Bizarre Murders II. However, I think that UM should let the viewers decide which segments should make the disc. Ooh... can I change my vote from Bizarre Murders II to Viewer's Choice? ;) GoldenGirlsFan92 02-07-2007, 09:59 PM Best of Lost Loves. Ragged Mile 02-07-2007, 11:10 PM Missing Persons peachysquirt21 02-08-2007, 03:33 AM Definately missing persons one. They have done so many stories on this subject. PrettyinPink55 02-08-2007, 03:45 AM Bizarre Murders Vol. 2 I third that!!!!!!!!! fabgourmet 02-08-2007, 06:45 AM Yeah, I think they should definately make a DVD set of missing persons, something like, "Without a Trace- Unbelieveable Disappearances". Some of the absolute finest and most unbelieveable episodes (Cindy Anderson, Anthonette Cayedito, Tami Lynn Lepert) UM has produced. They could even expand the series to include cases like Bonnie Wilder- those who indeed disappeared "without a trace" - and with thousands of dollars of other people's money! James T 02-08-2007, 10:06 AM I would like to see a second Psychics set, only kidding it has to be Bizarre Murders 2 Dislimb 02-08-2007, 01:22 PM Best of Lost Loves. :gary: crystaldawn 02-08-2007, 02:42 PM Yes I think "Unexplained Deaths/Missing Persons" would be a great boxed set. asmitty 02-08-2007, 04:11 PM Yes I think "Unexplained Deaths/Missing Persons" would be a great boxed set. I have to say that this would get my vote. My favorite cases have always been the ones where someone disappeared and their remains were found later and they have no idea how they died and no suspects. Or if they do have a suspect it's someone they simply have a composite of with no name or way to find them. Watching those cases late at night always gets my heart pumping. crystaldawn 05-18-2007, 01:51 PM I think the next future boxed set should be "UM segments never aired on Lifetime".... kamy 05-18-2007, 04:43 PM Everyone knows that a season by season boxed sets won't get released. But my question is if one more DVD boxed set would get released what would you prefer? What does "BANNED" mean under his name? crystaldawn 05-18-2007, 04:56 PM What does "BANNED" mean under his name? Basically that he was kicked out of SO and can no longer post. DarkDante 05-18-2007, 08:57 PM ^ Yeah if you ever come here on April Fool's Day you'll notice we all have BANNED under our handles LOL! GoldenGirlsFan92 05-18-2007, 10:03 PM Personally I wouldn't care what the next UM Boxset would be. I would just like for them to release another Boxset. Awsi Dooger 05-18-2007, 11:10 PM What does "BANNED" mean under his name? More info: BibleCode had a high profile dispute with dynoguy a few months ago. Then maybe a week later he got annoyed at me for suggesting the ignore function was for wimps. Apparently he posted a free flowing rant later that night with racial overtones but I missed it and the ones who did see it weren't thoughtful enough to copy it and send PMs. This site is not as gossipy or vindictive as others I post on. Damn shame. I thought he was an excellent candidate for global ignore. :D Awsi Dooger 05-18-2007, 11:13 PM There's that absurd note again: "Multiple Choice Poll. Voters: 21. You have already voted on this poll" ididn'tdoit 05-18-2007, 11:46 PM Season by season box set, i know it aint gonna happen, but i can still dream can't i  Awsi Dooger 05-19-2007, 02:30 AM That's because it wouldn't really be appropriate due to the seriousness of the topics discussed. Is it really necessary to include a smilie every time? You always say I'm not serious yet you went out of your way to interpret that segment you quoted from me as serious. Remarkable. James T 05-19-2007, 07:48 AM I think they probably thought it would not be a huge success sales wise and so packaged it cheap and kept the extras to a minimum, the commentaries were amateur in the extreme with them not knowing what seasons the shows aired, the sets as good as the content was smacked of we have the footage let's knock it out cheap and see what happens. I am not a big fan of the psychics but they did omit many infamous psychic related segments. I thought each DVD set with the exception of UFO's could easily had a running time of 8 hours. Many of the sets were spread too thin. The most notable was BM. Another issue I had was there were no linear notes or even information on what segment director did each story. The closing credits are not in chronological order. So you don't know if Wise, Cosgrove, Lyndsay, or Mathis is directing? It may seem tedious but it helps pinpoint the different styles they employ. Things as extreme CU's, wide shots, tracking camera, POV etc. As as far as sales, the miracles and psychics have sold the least :o . So unlikely that there will be a second set of psychics. wiseguy182 05-19-2007, 07:52 PM Many have shared your impression. For instance, on the "best of" set I heard there are many spelling errors and omissions. They even stated there were updates on a few cases and it didn't include it. I cant confirm it since I don't have that set. But the Amelia Earhart didn't include the small update about the possible plane being discovered. There was also many examples of filler being thrown in. For example, the $6,000 money miracle and some of the ghost stories weren't even scary. I guess that is why they threw in more ghost stories on the best of set to make up for those omissions. So yes it seemed they wanted to just make a few cents on the dollar. But they did have some good picks as the boys on the track on BM. Lurking through the board I saw that Crystaldawn had some strong BM on the Volume 2 set. There was also Screenbeagle who had this Notorius Criminal set that also had some notable bizzare murder cases. How was the screenbeagle set quality if anyone got it??? I just hoped the boxed sets would do good so the show can be back in the air with new stories. Because there should be a future for the show. There are hundreds of cable channels yet we always have room for stupid reality shows. I can tell you that it said that the Sarah Powell segment was supposed to be on there, but they replaced it with the Terecita Basa one. Depressing, since I already have that one and it's been shown countless times on UM and I don't have the Sarah Powell one. "Screenbeagle" is actually screenlegal6, and they did put out 2 sets. I didn't have any problems with the quality. |
