The Brides sailed all the way from New England to Seattle because there was
a shortage of men for husbands in their area. Do you think it was a wise or
slightly foolish decision? What would you have done if you were in their shoes?

I think it would have been frightening to get on that ship and sail so far from home. But with so many of the other girls deciding to take on the adventure, I
think going along with them would have been exciting.
