You know...I know that this case is a popular topic on these boards, but I don't believe that I've ever seen it! Every time I search these boards, I find lively discussions of possible solutions to the case, but I have absolutely no idea what anyone is talking about.

You hardcore fans must consider this as blasphemous, since it seems to be so popular here - but would anyone care to summarize this case for me??

Thanks!

Wikipedia explains it pretty well:

Thanks so much, Crystaldawn! I believe I have seen this case before, but it was only once, and 7 or 8 years ago, so I don't remember all of the details.

I never knew that the FBI once considered John List to be a suspect in the D.B. Cooper robbery... fascinating!

I happened to be tuned to the Travel Channel and a program on DB Cooper just came on. I've never seen this one before. Focuses on a guy named Jerry Thomas who supposedly is dedicating his life to hunting for the money.

Also they are showing a little town named Ariel which is isolated as the closest town to the jump site.

And there's genius Ralph Himmelsbach, who was in charge of investigating the case but had no idea what the route of the plane was.

I think D.B. Cooper was the Zodiac. Composites look similar, they would be around the same age, and both exhibited a high degree of guile and audacity. heh ;)

Actually that program I watched included many cases, only the first 10 minutes to the DB Cooper case. Jerry Thomas is trying to figure out which stream the money came from, via sampling algae and comparing it to the type of algae found on the bills in 1980.

Also, he expects to find the bones of DB Cooper. Keep walkin', Jerry. You're about 3000 miles from Cooper's grave in North Carolina.

Spark there are two intense threads that got locked down about Cooper.
Just plug D B Cooper into your search of the forums and they are on the second page. Unfortunately they got locked down because of a couple of trouble makers who later went on to blame an innocent man for the crime on public TV in the last yrs. He has had to do interviews to defend himself.

Also these two guys who crashed the thread are trying to crash another thread that I post to on another site.- they are trolls in the worst sense.
I hope Ted Mayfield the accused takes them to court for every dime they have ever made or will ever make.
