TVFactFan 02-04-2007, 08:37 PM Now that the Colts have the lead, the Bears should FOLD. The Colts have to play a lot better in the 2nd half and for pete's sake, DONT kick it the Devin Hester again. lol Colts have to cut down on turnovers. Normally I would be annoyed at a missed FG but the Colts are WINNING, they get the ball first in the 2nd half, and the Bears Offense have not drove down the field all day so I still like the colts chances Lex Luthor 02-04-2007, 09:01 PM Can't believe Vinatieri missed that one. An Extra point convert and a 36 rd feild goal .... usually this guy is as clutch as you can get TVFactFan 02-04-2007, 09:02 PM Can't believe Vinatieri missed that one. Grossman will have to start throwing the ball downfield. His passes are too short. Lex Luthor 02-04-2007, 09:06 PM If Rex plays the rest of the game like the first half they have no chance lol (commentator just said it as I was typing too) I figured the Bears D would be good for a score so Indy still has to keep going and finish these guys off moeee 02-04-2007, 09:07 PM The loss of Benson is huge for the Bears. They controlled the ball with a great running game. You have to give the Bears defense some credit for keeping it closer than it could have been. The Colts didn't win it as much as the Bears gave it away to them in my opinion. 3 Fumbles and 2 Interceptions. Losing Benson to injury hurt them. Bears had a chance when it was 22-17 and they threw an INT for a TD. Lex Luthor 02-04-2007, 11:00 PM Congrats to the Colts and their bandwagon fans. I'll say nowhere near the bad taste left in the mouths of Cleveland fans after the Baltimore Ravens won Super Bowl XXXV. Mr. Television 02-04-2007, 11:51 PM Congratulations to the Colts and their fans. Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy are 2 classy individuals that deserved the win. I thought the Bears had a shot and the defense kept it close but Grossman gave the game away. eltonfan80 02-04-2007, 11:56 PM yes yes the colts won party:  James 02-05-2007, 12:03 AM I said this in another thread, but I'll repeat it here: party: theshark8777 02-05-2007, 12:45 AM I am not a bandwagon jumper. Did we actually think Grossman would outplay Manning and the Colts? lol Brian Damage 02-05-2007, 02:07 AM I am not a bandwagon jumper. Peyton won't be compared to Marino anymore. I followed Manning and have been a fan of his since his days as a qb in Tennessee. What a great qb he has been, probably the best of this generation. freshprinceofLA 02-05-2007, 06:13 AM Congrats to the Colts. I picked them last year to win but oh well that's all in the past. I think they can repeat. Tony Dungy and those colts deserve it! Tweety 02-05-2007, 08:03 AM Should have stayed away from it (the pre-game hype) like me-lol Exactly... never watched a single minute of pre-game hype... in fact, I turned on TV just as the opening kick off was in the air... Vinatieri had kicked off, but Hester hadn't caught the ball yet. Perfect timing. My first words were "oh no, they kicked it TO him!" LOL The only Super Bowl discussions I listened to during the last two weeks was whatever the guys would have talked about on "Around the Horn" and "Pardon the Interruption". That was it. No Sportcenter (which I don't really watch anyway), no NFL Countdown, no NFL Matchup, nothing... I just enjoyed the game itself (but I didn't watch halftime, never watch that either.... I threw on a "Get Smart" dvd and watched an episode. I turned back to the game about 1 minute into the 2nd half). It was a fun game to watch because of the weather, and the constant turnovers made it exciting. Especially the two back-to-back fumbles. Although I was rooting for the Colts to win, I'm glad that the Bears were able to keep the score close in spite of Indy's dominance in all areas (yards, # of plays, time of possession, you name it). I don't like watching blowouts in the Super Bowl...This was the last real game of the year, and I was hoping for a close game...and it was, until that last interception/runback by the Colts (great work by the officials to not call Hayden out of bounds on that return... he got as close to the line as you possibly could, but his heel never hit the ground outside the line... great camera work on that as well!) friendsfan77 02-05-2007, 08:14 AM yes yes the colts won party:  yes, go second hometown Indy!!!! TVFactFan 02-05-2007, 12:25 PM I am not a bandwagon jumper. Peyton won't be compared to Marino anymore. TRUE DAT!!! See that Snickers Commercials?-lol eltonfan80 02-05-2007, 10:37 PM See that Snickers Commercials?-lol i thought it was funny  TVFactFan 02-05-2007, 11:04 PM i thought it was funny  straight men didn't think so Scoobiedoo30 02-07-2007, 12:51 AM Congrat's to the Colts jacktripper1 02-10-2007, 04:34 AM I am not a bandwagon jumper. Peyton won't be compared to Marino anymore. he shouldn't be compared to Marino anyway. The reason why is this: Manning is a superstar player on a quality team. His teams in general have won on average abt 10 games a year almost every year, won their division, made the playoffs and just got beat by a better team (until now). Marino was a superstar player with sub-par talent around him (sans some receivers). The team went 8-8 & 9-7 a lot of years & finished anywhere from 2nd to 5th in the division standings. The Dolphins only won 5 division titles during his time & the last 2 were via tie-breaker. You can't WIN the Super Bowl if you can't get in the play-offs, & you can't get in the playoffs winning 8 games every year. Therefore, there legally is NO comparison. This also bodes true for the Tarkenton, Elway(in the '80's), & Kelly in the 90's, comparisons. The above statement about Manning's teams is true for the Vikings of the 70's, Broncos of the 80's, & Bills of the 90's. They all 3 were powerhouse teams who won double digit games every year, made the playoffs, won their divisions, & made the SB "multiple times" & just got beat by a better team!! This is not the case when it comes to Marino, & any true football fan knows this. He had mediocre talent around him and basically he alone kept the Dolphins competitive. They would have looked a lot worse without him, without a doubt. Upper management let him down by not building around him properly to have more consistent "powerhouse teams" to give him the "multiple chances" the other mentioned teams had to see if he could win one. Management stuck him with it and said- duplicate 1984 & hung everything on him!! Management let him down & that's the true bottom line. If a true comparison is made, it should be to Tarkenton & Kelly- even Elway gets outta that one due to his late 90's SB wins. That's who the comparisons should be made to, T&K, not Marino. |
