Congrats to the Colts and their bandwagon fans. They controlled the ball with a great running game. You have to give the Bears defense some credit for keeping it closer than it could have been. The Colts didn't win it as much as the Bears gave it away to them in my opinion. 3 Fumbles and 2 Interceptions. Losing Benson to injury hurt them. Bears had a chance when it was 22-17 and they threw an INT for a TD.

Should have stayed away from it (the pre-game hype) like me-lol

Exactly... never watched a single minute of pre-game hype... in fact, I turned on TV just as the opening kick off was in the air... Vinatieri had kicked off, but Hester hadn't caught the ball yet. Perfect timing. My first words were "oh no, they kicked it TO him!" LOL

The only Super Bowl discussions I listened to during the last two weeks was whatever the guys would have talked about on "Around the Horn" and "Pardon the Interruption". That was it. No Sportcenter (which I don't really watch anyway), no NFL Countdown, no NFL Matchup, nothing...

I just enjoyed the game itself (but I didn't watch halftime, never watch that either.... I threw on a "Get Smart" dvd and watched an episode. I turned back to the game about 1 minute into the 2nd half).

It was a fun game to watch because of the weather, and the constant turnovers made it exciting. Especially the two back-to-back fumbles.

Although I was rooting for the Colts to win, I'm glad that the Bears were able to keep the score close in spite of Indy's dominance in all areas (yards, # of plays, time of possession, you name it).

I don't like watching blowouts in the Super Bowl...This was the last real game of the year, and I was hoping for a close game...and it was, until that last interception/runback by the Colts (great work by the officials to not call Hayden out of bounds on that return... he got as close to the line as you possibly could, but his heel never hit the ground outside the line... great camera work on that as well!)

I am not a bandwagon jumper.
Peyton won't be compared to Marino anymore. he shouldn't be compared to Marino anyway. The reason why is this: Manning is a superstar player on a quality team. His teams in general have won on average abt 10 games a year almost every year, won their division, made the playoffs and just got beat by a better team (until now). Marino was a superstar player with sub-par talent around him (sans some receivers). The team went 8-8 & 9-7 a lot of years & finished anywhere from 2nd to 5th in the division standings. The Dolphins only won 5 division titles during his time & the last 2 were via tie-breaker. You can't WIN the Super Bowl if you can't get in the play-offs, & you can't get in the playoffs winning 8 games every year. Therefore, there legally is NO comparison. This also bodes true for the Tarkenton, Elway(in the '80's), & Kelly in the 90's, comparisons. The above statement about Manning's teams is true for the Vikings of the 70's, Broncos of the 80's, & Bills of the 90's. They all 3 were powerhouse teams who won double digit games every year, made the playoffs, won their divisions, & made the SB "multiple times" & just got beat by a better team!! This is not the case when it comes to Marino, & any true football fan knows this. He had mediocre talent around him and basically he alone kept the Dolphins competitive. They would have looked a lot worse without him, without a doubt. Upper management let him down by not building around him properly to have more consistent "powerhouse teams" to give him the "multiple chances" the other mentioned teams had to see if he could win one. Management stuck him with it and said- duplicate 1984 & hung everything on him!! Management let him down & that's the true bottom line. If a true comparison is made, it should be to Tarkenton & Kelly- even Elway gets outta that one due to his late 90's SB wins. That's who the comparisons should be made to, T&K, not Marino.
