I looked at my calendar today, saw that it was Feb. 2nd, and thought, "I feel like there is something I should remember for today." After much thought, I remembered that Feb. 2nd was the date I registered on SOL.... so I decided to sign on...post this, and say "HI." :)

Anyway, now for a 'real' post -- Out of curiousity, for those of you who have your driver's license, how many attempts did you take to pass the road test? How many hours of training? Did you go to a driving school, or had someone else teach you?

That's all I wanted know.

Happy "anniversary." :)

Let's see... regarding driving. I took driver's ed in High School (being a car guy, I couldn't wait for that). The cars they used were 1974-'75 Plymouth Valiants. I passed the driving test on the first try; I can't remember the exact score. I also don't remember how many hours of training, but my brother, and to a lesser degree, my dad were my "coaches."

I've recently taken drivers ed. I really didn't have any need to drive until now. So there you go!

I've had seven hours official training, and some excursions with my cousin.

I'm convinced that it's not enough to pass the driving test, although I did really well on the parallel parking.

I took 6 hours of private lessons in addition to driving with my parents. I passed my road test my first time.

First try: Drove up on the sidewalk while parallel parking. Automatic fail.

Second try: Didn't do that. Passed. That was with one month of solid practice beforehand, and driver's ed three years before that.

(I should clarify: At least here, the road test is on the actual roads in town, not a closed course as it may or may not be in other places)
