Woohoo!!!!! :woohoo: MsOrange 02-04-2007, 12:56 AM sorry i've taken my time in responding, but I wanted to thank you ALL for your support. For those who are in the dark. I have a family history of cervix cancer. I've had regular trips to the gynocologist (spelling? too tired to check!) since I was 16 because of that. This year my test came back "suspicious", so they sent another sample off again for further testing. The doctor told me to prepare for the worse, so I did. Janice, Kelly, and a few others had PMd me because they saw my comments in the "complaint department", so I just made a post about it stating what was going on (can't find that thread now). Well, I got my results back the other day and they were negative! So me and my hubby were soooo relieved!! anyway, soryr if this is wordy, but i am so tired and about to head to bed. again, I just want to thank everyone who took the time to read/reply to this!! you don't know how much it means to me! Janice 02-04-2007, 01:01 AM Mel, I'm sure you know there's a vaccine out now. You're in that high risk group. I'm so glad you're okay. http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2006/NEW01385.html Chocoholic 02-04-2007, 02:57 PM I'm glad to hear you're OK :) PZelda 02-04-2007, 03:19 PM Mel, I'm sure you know there's a vaccine out now. You're in that high risk group. I'm so glad you're okay. http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2006/NEW01385.html Yeah, Gardasil is great stuff. You've got to have it done before you turn 26, though. So far, they haven't approved a vaccine for people over 26. I'm not aware of any history of cervical cancer in either side of my family. I do, however, have a cousin who had cervical cancer when she was 17. She's fine now, though (and about to turn 23 in three weeks!). :) I went for my first dose of Gardasil in December, and I need to make an appt to get my second dose, which is coming up soon. The website you linked to explains that Gardasil is given in three doses over six months, but what it doesn't explain is that you have to get the second dose two months after the first, and that the third dose comes four months after the second dose. Anywaaaaaaaaaaaaay, Mel, I am SO happy to hear that everything is fine! Yay! :D It's pretty scary stuff, I know. Hang in there, girl. :) MsOrange 02-04-2007, 06:15 PM yep, i've got another appointment for just that! |
