I came across an interesting clip on youtube.com. It's a clip from a Bing Crosby Christmas Special. It includes the cast of Hogan's Heroes singing Christmas songs. There's even a duet between Werner Klemperer and John Banner singing Silent Night in it's orginial version. Check it out:

....Crosby's production company produced "HOGAN'S HEROES" for CBS, and he wanted most of the cast to join his "family" of guests on his 1965 ABC "HOLLYWOOD PALACE" Christmas special, which they did. Not only was the result memorable (especially the duet with Werner Klemperer and John Banner), it also reminded the industry that Bing was behind "HOGAN" 100%, despite protests that the show's subject matter was somewhat questionable.
I'm quite sure this was Crosby's way of saying, "I have complete trust in these people, no matter what they appear in!".
