Well since Comcast showed it UNCUT I won't need to buy it unless it's some extras seventies_sitcoms 02-01-2007, 02:49 AM I have the Comcast episodes, but I will still buy it. JNobleBand 02-01-2007, 07:39 PM This is GREAT! I will buy it for sure, even though I already have all the season one eps. Seasons 4-9 are the ones I really want to see! Imad Scoobiedoo30 02-03-2007, 06:46 PM so it will be early summer dandelion wine 02-04-2007, 03:06 AM Fan-friggin-tastic. :woohoo: vashti1999 02-07-2007, 01:27 PM Good news that they're including the '05 reunion special, according to this (http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6887). seventies_sitcoms 02-07-2007, 01:59 PM I really wish they included the original pilot called "Three To Get Ready" that is housed at UCLA. It was recorded April 7, 1975. There was a different theme song called "Gettin Ready" by Fred Werner and Marcy Fleischer. The cast was Bonnie Franklin, Mackenzie Phillips, Marcia Rodd, Pat Harrington, Lewis J. Stelden, Wendy Wright-Hay, and Victor Killiian Heck, UCLA even has an episode of Flo. I found a lot of good stuff at UCLA. http://cinema.library.ucla.edu/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&PAGE=First I wish they would somehow release The New People to the public. Anyway, I'm glad ODAAT is finally getting a release. The only trouble is how many seasons do we get?? Tha Kid eX 02-07-2007, 02:24 PM further confirmation below http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6887 SoapFan71 02-07-2007, 03:20 PM I think $29.95(retail) is a bit high for a 2 disc set, I think it would sell better at a lower price. Glad the reunion is on there cuz I missed it! TVFactFan 02-07-2007, 06:15 PM Yeah for a Partial season that is a little HIGH TVFactFan 02-07-2007, 06:18 PM Good news that they're including the '05 reunion special, according to this (http://tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6887). Why is adding the Reunion Special an attractive BONUS?? It was aired on CBS 2 years ago-lol ClassicTV4Ever 02-07-2007, 11:50 PM Why is adding the Reunion Special an attractive BONUS?? It was aired on CBS 2 years ago-lol Uh, maybe because there may be a lot of people who either missed it or watched it but didn't get a chance to record it and and want to see it again? Just because it may not be a bonus for you doesn't mean it wouldn't be a bonus for others. storrs19 02-08-2007, 09:06 AM Hell, I would write reviews all day long if I got the shows in advance of release date and for free  That sounds like a great job  TVFactFan 02-08-2007, 07:24 PM Uh, maybe because there may be a lot of people who either missed it or watched it but didn't get a chance to record it and and want to see it again? Just because it may not be a bonus for you doesn't mean it wouldn't be a bonus for others. IMO, a real fan of the show would have seen the CBS Reunion in 2005. And II'm not even a diehard and I saw the reunion Skywalker 02-08-2007, 10:20 PM I think $29.95(retail) is a bit high for a 2 disc set, I think it would sell better at a lower price. Glad the reunion is on there cuz I missed it! I don't think it's too high at all. I mean if they only made 6 episodes during the first season, I'd say it's pretty high, but 15 is not bad. :) And plus you can probably pick it up at most stores for around $20.00 so I don't mind. storrs19 02-09-2007, 11:34 AM Maybe they are "testing the waters" so to speak and wanting to see just how many people will shell out $30 for the 15 episodes of Season 1. As mentioned, it can probably be found for around $22 or so at most stores. I will buy it as I have not seen this show for many years and I really liked the first few seasons. After Julie and Barbara got married (not to each other, LOL) I didn't care for it as much as the "single mother raising the teen age daughters" got replaced with too much focus on Ann running a business. JMHO of course. Pavan 02-12-2007, 01:28 PM FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: This Is It! Go and Have a Ball … The Long-Running Sitcom from Powerhouse Producer Norman Lear Comes to DVD April 24 ONE DAY AT A TIME: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON All 15 Episodes from the Emmy Award®-Winning Series Starring Bonnie Franklin, Valerie Bertinelli, Mackenzie Phillips, and Pat Harrington, Jr. Will Be Available in a Two-Disc Set with Exclusive Bonus Features Culver City, CA (February 12, 2007) – Though created by husband-and-wife writing duo Whitney Blake and Allan Manings, One Day at a Time indelibly displayed the imprint of its legendary producer Norman Lear. The series depicted a divorced mother raising two headstrong teenage daughters while trying to maintain a career and, like other Lear comedies (All in the Family, Maude, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman), was occasionally controversial, tackling topical family issues such as teen sexuality and money problems in a candid, straightforward manner. On April 24, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment debuts One Day at a Time: The Complete First Season on DVD featuring all 15 episodes in a two-disc set. The series stars Emmy®-nominee Bonnie Franklin, three-time Golden Globe® nominee Valerie Bertinelli (who won twice), Mackenzie Phillips, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Pat Harrington, Jr., and Richard Masur. The bonus materials include The One Day at a Time Reunion Special, which originally aired on CBS, in which Franklin, Bertinelli, Phillips and Harrington are reunited to reminiscence about the show nearly 30 years after it debuted. The special, which incorporates additional footage not seen in its original airing, also features interviews with recurring cast members Masur, Shelley Fabares, Nanette Fabray, Michael Lembeck, and Glenn Scarpelli. One Day at a Time: The Complete First Season will be available for $29.95 SRP. One Day at a Time debuted mid-season on December 16, 1975, and remained a Top 20 show in the Nielsen ratings for CBS during most of its run. Over the course of nine seasons, the series aired 209 episodes and was nominated for three Emmy Awards (winning two) and nine Golden Globes (winning three). Highlights from the first season include episodes where Julie (Phillips) debates going “all the way,” Barbara (Bertinelli) tries to get her parents back together, Julie flirts with her teacher to get a better grade, David (Masur) proposes to Ann (Franklin), Julie’s date develops a crush on Ann, and Ann’s ex-husband Ed (guest star Joseph Campanella) decides to remarry. Scoobiedoo30 02-12-2007, 01:39 PM I cant wait for One day at a time to come out in April TVFactFan 02-12-2007, 06:45 PM The UNSEEN FOOTAGE on the Reunion Special still is not going to make me buy the DVD-lol Robert 13 02-14-2007, 10:49 AM I think the reason they include the reunion specials as a bonus is because many people wonder "hey, what happened to so-and-so?" and this is a way for them to find out. So for the casual buyer, they might get it for nostalgic purposes and have further incentive to make the purchase because they can see the show and get an update even if it is 2 years old. It's more of an update than not having a reunion at all. :) ThomasE 02-19-2007, 03:43 PM I will be purchasing this show. LOL. No questions asked. NancyEiE 03-02-2007, 07:50 PM The DVD can now be preordered at Amazon cach9801 03-20-2007, 05:54 PM I'm going to buy it! We don't get CBS or comcast on demand in England... and I used to watch it when I was a young boy in Minneapolis. Def worth $30 (plus prob another $15 shipping...) |
