Money? Some women on the Early Show on CBS was explaining how to make a MILLION DOLLARS?????-LOL She was in a middle of a sentence and i turned the TV off. No one can be that dumb to actually believe that someone can TELL you how to make a lot of money. You have to figure it out for yourself

Very true, but hearing how others did it can't hurt. I am not saying their way will work for everyone, but hearing how they did it could be helpful.

So what. Like I said, anyone can tell you SOME secrets, doesn't mean it's going to work for you. Those people make more money by teaching others thru books, DVD's, etc.

My husband's niece and her husband are multi-millionaires. Crazy rich. I know that he taught his wife's father how to invest, and now they're rich too...not filthy rich, but rich.

So sounds like 2 options:

have a millionaire advise you

make a dvd of your money making secrets...even if you don't have a lot of money, sell a lot of dvds and you now have money?!

Some people just are lucky. Others, like my family, never can catch a break and will stay living paycheck to paycheck for the rest of our lives. I think you just have to have it to be one of those rich people.

How do you think those people advertising their little get rich quick schemes in infomercials actually make their money. It ain't in real estate, that's for sure.

Someone in the real estate business once said to me that "If these people actually had any ability to make large sums of money in real estate like they say they can, they'd be out there doing it, instead of shilling some book on the El Paso Telemundo station at 3 AM".

How they make their money though is that they've convinced enough people that their methods work, and so they buy their ridiculously overpriced books, CDs, DVDs, etc - which brings in the money. It's not just real estate: That Video Professor guy sells computer learning CDs - nothing too advanced, the same stuff you can learn online in a day or at a Community College near you in a class. You get the "free trial" CDs...but unless you return at least one to them within 14 days of the date you're expected to receive the order, you get charged EIGHTY DOLLARS. And that's just the "introductory" lesson.

Seth is correct. I mean, it only takes one gullible person after another to buy such useless garbage.

Those who have really made $$$ do it by actually working hard, just like Mr. Gardner, whose struggles were portrayed in that movie with Will Smith. He had the smarts, the incentive, the education (math skills), not to mention phone skills and people skills. He knows how to talk to people, that's the first step in getting your foot in the door anywhere.

What occurred in the movie abt approaching that guy in the red porsch is true. He asked the guy how did he make $$$ to buy that vehicle. That was all Mr. Gardner needed to know and the rest, he did himself.

I'm amazingly curious by this, as pretty much every thing I've ever heard -ever- were basically stopping just short of calling it - or calling it outright - a scam.

Haha, not for me Irene. It's a lot of work and it's a high risk venture. Too risky for my blood. He just got in at the right time. He was flipping houses like pancakes.

Who knows. He struck it rich and left all us regular folk behind. I've known a few other people who have flipped real estate and had decent success. With all the foreclosures going on these days, I'd say the time is right again.

How sad he left his friends behind. I would think he would want to share his "luck" with his friends so they too can enjoy the piece of the pie. Oh well.

I've been looking into this, too. Since around March of last year. I wasn't able to do anything about it last year because I couldn't find an organization I felt comfortable with and because the workshops were 3 days in length and out of my area (I am a caregiver for my mom and can't be away from the house for 3 days straight, 8 or 10 hours a day).

After researching, I will say beware of the Robert G. Allen course.

I'm looking into this one and will post updates. It is a fact that anyone can buy homes in foreclosure. The degree of success depends on people skills and dedication to contacting those people in foreclosure (you have to call a lot of homeowners) and learning a system that works.
