View Full Version : Henry Blake v. Sherman Potter Chocolate Moose 01-25-2007, 11:23 AM Really hard choice - I think I'm Henry Blake, though! AB 01-25-2007, 04:33 PM I liked Henry the best. tdf4077 01-25-2007, 05:28 PM Henry. He was just funnier IMO. retrochick9 01-26-2007, 09:24 PM I really liked them both. They each had their own qualities and personalities. Scoobiedoo30 01-27-2007, 08:58 PM Sherman Potter M*A*R*G*A*R*E*T 01-28-2007, 11:10 AM I agree with retrochick9 ; I love each of them for different reasons, but I think my overall favorite was Henry. tdf4077 01-28-2007, 11:17 AM I'm thinking, in cases of extreme crisis, I may have actually wanted Potter...sorry Henry, but Potter knew what he was doing blackbeard 01-28-2007, 11:28 AM If I was serving near the front lines I would want Sherm in charge, far far away from the front then Henry. On the show Henry and the first 3 seasons are my favorites. Trivia: The 2 actors that portrayed Henry in the movie and the series died 1 day apart. McLean Stevenson Feb. 15, 1996, Roger Bowen February 16,1996, both of heart attacks. ercjncpr 01-28-2007, 12:11 PM Really hard choice - I think I'm Henry Blake, though! Potter was a better contrasting character. The CO can never be another one of the boys. He has to be different. Henry belonged in the swamp, not in the CO's office Dynomite 01-28-2007, 08:23 PM Col. Sherman T. Potter. He's regular army, runs a tight ship and everyone in the unit respects him. He's like a father figure to them. Henry Blake, on the other hand, interracts with the unit like a soldier's Colonel, instead of a commanding officer. He was more like a buddy, rather than a commander. Col. Potter commands respect and gets it. He knows he can trust his unit to take care of certain matters without instruction, and if anyone makes a mistake, he let's them know that so they don't repeat those mistakes. Case and point, Henry Blake was more of a buddy, while Sherman Potter was the genuine father figure to the entire unit. hippiechick60 01-31-2007, 08:39 PM yeah i think i agree with you dyno and tdf! i mean i liked Henry and all but i don't think he know how to handle things you know! i mean at least with Col. Potter he knew what he was doing! besides i liked him he was tough but fair! |
