I know it's supposed to be a choice, but I really do like them both.

nah my vote goes to BJ i think cause i think Trapper was just a little too much like Hawkeye! not that was bad or anything like that but i just think that BJ was a little more ummm....mature than Hawkeye!!!

Hey, he IS cute!! ;) Why didn't Wayne Rogers reprise his role in Trapper John MD? Why did Pernell Roberts end up playing the role instead??

I prefered BJ to Trapper, he was more of a partner to Hawkeye and has a more interesting "backstory"

According to IMDB.com:

A court ruled that the series was not a spin-off from the television show "M*A*S*H" (1972); rather, that it was a spin-off from the film MASH (1970).

Wayne Rogers, who played Trapper John in "M*A*S*H" (1972), turned down the role because he did not want to play a doctor again on television. (He later played a doctor on the television show "House Calls" (1979), itself a spinoff of a movie, House Calls (1978).)

So, it should have been Elliot Gould anyways I suppose.

Although I did like BJ, because he always seemed sweet, Trapper was always my favorite.

Yeah. I liked Trapper better. Even though they both cheated on their wives, BJ wasn't the same as Trapper. You felt less comfortable watching him.
