I know I've stated before that I don't give a great deal of merit to the Neilsen ratings, but I was just wondering if anyone knew what Unsolved Mysteries' peak position was.

I did some quick research via Google. This is what I found:

I'm not fully standing behind these figures due to the fact that they have come from an Angelfire page, but I thought the figures were interesting. They show UM's peak position being at #9 in either 1990 or 1991.

Yes, I believe UM was a top 10 show when you said it was Ricci, and I believe UM was a top 20 show until 1993 or 1994. I would say it was around 1993 or 1994 it started dropping off and the quality of the show went downhill rather quickly and within a couple of years of dropping off the top twenty was cancelled by NBC.

They dropped out of the top 20 in the 1993/4 season, the same season where they were tinkering with the intro and the music. Coincidence? I don't think so. ;)
