Okay. I am going to be moving to Alabama in a little under 6 months. I didn't want my sister knowing for a variety of reasons. First of which is that the only time she calls or comes to visit is when she wants something. Next is that I am afraid that she will follow me.

I thought I was home free. Well, apparently my husband told one of the girls that he works with. Well, she told her friend who is the brother of one of the guys at another store. Which wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that his wife works with my sister. So what does she do? Tells my sister. UGH!! I could have screamed.

Now she is telling me that she wants to leave South Florida too. I think I am going to scream!! If she follows me to Alabama I am going to have to seriously consider counseling!! LOL!!

Men...they're worse than women when it comes to gossip.

As for your sister, that's a tough one. I would think it would be difficult to keep such a big move from a family member. Someone always knows someone.

I can be honest with her. I just know that no matter what I say she will follow me. I love her, but I need to get out from under her shadow.

The funny thing was that we were going to tell her sooner or later. I guess sooner is better than later. LOL!! Oh well. When she called me she seemed to take it pretty well. I'll just have to see how it goes.

Well, Victorville is out in the desert. That town is about 55-60 miles away from where I live. But I have been through Victorville.

I asked him, "Do you have a watch?" He responded, "Yes, it's 5:30." Dork...I asked if you had a watch, not WHAT TIME IT WAS!

My boyfriend was a witness to a crime and he was on the stand...he couldn't just give ONE WORD ANSWERS when the defense attorney questioned him. He had to ELABORATE. Damn him!!! We stayed there longer than was necessary. :crazy:

Which proves my point, you really need to "listen" to what is being asked of you...I never asked for the time, I just wanted to know if he had a watch. I learned this from a prosecuting attorney when I was in college. She stated that too many people don't listen carefully and just say more than is necessary. Something she loved to do while dealing with someone on the stand in a criminal court proceeding because it benefitted her and her case.

That's a good point, Irene. Although, if someone asks a person if they have a watch, I think it's only natural for that person to assume that they want to know the time. That's what I'd assume myself; I'd probably answer the same way.

Like if someone asked you for directions - "do you know where such-and-such a place is?" They haven't asked you to actually tell them where the place is, but most of the time, that's what they want to know, and most people would assume that.
