I liked them all, but I think I'll have to go with Mr. Carlin. I loved his deadpan put-downs about himself and others, and plus Jack Riley is from the Cleveland area, as I am.

Close second is the wimpy Mr. Petersen, played by John Fiedler. Does anyone remember his utterly charming guest spot on Bewitched as "Fergus the Frog"??

I haven't seen all the episodes, but was it ever explained why the sweet Mrs. Bakerman was in the group? She seemed to be the most normal, self-assured one of them all!

After Mr. Carlin, I think Edgar T. Vickers was my favorite. He was such a cranky old guy - he always cracked me up.

I'd pick Mr. Carlin. Something about him made you really believe he needed to see Dr. Hartley.

He was in EVERY one of Bob's groups. He was even in the Out of Work Workshop (even though he had a job) and the Over 60 group (even though he wasn't 60 or over). He justified it by saying he had trouble relating to people of all ages and walks of life.

They were all good. However, I think Mr. Carlin was the best.

A close second would be former Marine, Mr. Peterson. I love his quote, "Blow it out your duffel bag".

Mr. Herd.
Mr. Herd the nerd - the worst door to door salesman you'll ever see. I love how the only one who ever bought from him was Bob.

For me, it's a close run between Mr. Carlin and Mr. Petersen for the favorite man in the regular groups. I also loved the lady (whose name escapes me at the moment), the one who's a cashier in a grocery store. "How nice!"

That would be Mrs. Lillian Bakerman (Florida Friebus), who would knit and say, "Isn't that nice?"

Thanks, that's the one. I hadn't had my first cup of coffee yet, when I posted that! Mrs. Bakerman ALWAYS cracks me up!
