2/12/76-????-TV Guide doesn't list ep Description

So it appears that only 7 eps were AIRED due to terrible ratings in the Thursday Night slot. So Out of the 5 I have 2 and probably will only get to see the other 5 if TV Land airs them.

Lamont and Donna were the only Sanford and Son characters not to make a Guest Appearance on Grady

So now it looks like there were more Grady eps than Sanford Arms. I wonder why BET showed Sanford Arms instead of Grady.

There are 8 eps of Sanford Arms, only 4 were aired on NBC. A trader emailed me his list the other day and on his list I saw this

Sanford Arms-12 eps

For a long time I thought traders only had 8 episodes of No time for Sergeants but during the summer I found a 9th one so it's possible. I haven't seen anyone with more than 4 episodes either, but who knows.

I think the Sanford Arms would have made a lot more sense if it was just about Esther and Woody. It would have them running there store and the hotel.

Right because it would have still had that Sanford and Son connection, but instead it featured a NEW FAMILY in the Sanford Home with Esther as a Side Character. Kind of Like Weezy and George Moving to Hawaii and a New Black couple moving in with Bentley still coming over to borrow Things-LOL

Maybe because Grady failed they wanted to try a new cast for the next spinoff. It Grady had been a hit maybe they wouldn't have tried a new family.

They did the NEW FAMILY with Grady Too only difference is Grady was the Main character-lol On Sanford Arms no Sanford and Son Charcter had a major role which made the show kind of ODD.

The ep guide on tv.com is inaccurate. There was no episode description for 2 airdates so I would love to know how they came up with 10 eps-lol On top of that, the show has never been in syndication so no one would not know what eps aired on

1/29/76
2/12/76

How do you know that it wasn't shown somewhere else in syndication??? We have a fairly new station here that's not a national network, and they have aired shows that weren't or aren't on other national networks.

And my point is how do you know what was and what wasn't shown in other states on their personal station. For example, Here about 5 or 6 years ago we have a station that use to air "Out of this World", "227", And "Webster". And by the way, at tvguide.com they have that Grady had 12 episodes, Also at Wikipedia.org. And I have one more website to check which has the time and dates and year that tvshows aired.

A show can have 30 or 40 episodes and run in syndication, so I don't know where you got that 4 seasons stuff from. And for your info some stations can run specials. Thank you very much

Right, I'm not saying that it wasn't more than 7 eps, I'm just saying that it's no other way of me confirming that there was more than 7 at this time. And no website has the info either especially if they can't state where they got the Info from

Mr. Television
01-24-2007, 01:38 AM
No show is going into syndication with only 7 episodes especially on local channels. Maybe a cable channel like BET could have aired it as a companion to Sanford but they never did.

I wouldn't take anything that TV.Com or Wikipedia has at face value. Their's been plenty of mistakes on those websites. Unless their were un-aired episodes of Grady then the TV Guides are the best bet.

Maybe, because some one did their homework and they found out the name of the episodes. Just because you don't have the info, doesn't mean that it doesn't exists. You call yourself a researcher, research it, do YOUR homework. You found the episodes that aired, But did you find the ones that didn’t?

Thanks for the info but it seems like the show was set up to fail. We all know TV ratings take a nosedive in December with reruns and holiday themed episodes. I wonder how it would have done if it would have in spring 1976.
