View Full Version : Freddie 30 year tributes Pitooey 01-19-2007, 01:46 PM I've been wracking my brain thinking of tributes to give to Freddie and his fans. I have 2 so far. Cheryl Harrell 01-20-2007, 05:10 AM Those both were very nice. THanks for posting those. Freddie we remember you & haven't forgotten... Pitooey 01-22-2007, 03:45 PM Thanks Cheryl. I have one more that I did today. Here it is....... Cheryl Harrell 01-22-2007, 05:48 PM Your newest one was really good too! Enjoying all the tributes... hue_mee 01-24-2007, 08:33 PM I got this wonderful email from someone after I did some research. It just so happens that for the past 30 years a group of people have been involved in a dart tournement that is in Freddie's memory. It all started the day after freddie died, the tournement was buzzed with conversation involving Freddie's death. A bunch of them decided to meet again the same time the following and then it became the fredddie prinze memorial tournement and they are still going strong after all these years. Is that wild or what!!! Cheryl Harrell 01-26-2007, 08:22 AM I bet Freddie would've loved that tournament in memory of him. I bet he would've gotten a big kick outta that... :) Joy 01-26-2007, 04:14 PM how cool is that and what a fun way to spend time remembering him, i wonder if Freddie played darts? hue_mee 01-28-2007, 01:06 PM I am having flowers delivered to Freddie's crypt at Forest lawn Cemetery. Infact they just called me to confirm it. If anyone here is planning a visit this monday. Hopefully they will be there for him at his crypt Joy 01-29-2007, 02:16 PM cool how thoughtful hue_mee 01-29-2007, 06:41 PM Here is a little something Luckymama58 01-29-2007, 09:18 PM I was recalling the song Mariposa and I wrote a while ago.... Sweet Nightmare... My files are on media I no longer have access too... if anyone has the words somewhere and could post them for me, I would appreciate it. I only wish they would take some sound files here, I think I could dig up the files if they could. In the meantime, here is a pic I did a while back for a CD I sent out of pics and articles to many of you...121897 30 years... where has the time gone.... We move on with our lives, which we should do, but a part of us will always remember.... I heard something on the TV the other night about a father who lost a daughter to the Jonestown tragedy... he thought the only way he could hold on to the memory of his daughter was holding on to the grief he felt for her, but after a while he discovered he could let go of the grief and still hang on to her, that her memory was sweeter without the grief.... I guess that is a lot like Freddie for me. I have gotten past the grief and have the sweet memories of who he was to hang on to. I could chose to be regretful for the fact that he left us so young, but what would that accomplish. So I say to all of his fans, remember Freddie today, do not be sad. He is with us, through the good thoughts of each other. And thank you all for your wonderful tributes.... I know Freddie is smiling down on all of you.... Prince 01-29-2007, 09:25 PM I agree Lucky...we need to keep our thoughts positive today, Freddie wouldn't want it any other way. Love all the tributes and pictures.:) Pitooey 01-29-2007, 09:33 PM I got this wonderful email from someone after I did some research. Is that wild or what!!! WoW...... That is wild. He would absolutely love that. The tributes to Freddie are nice. :) MariposaLKB 01-29-2007, 09:34 PM Lucky, what is even worse is that I have NO clue where "Sweet Nightmare" ended up in my stash! I do know I have the whole unfinished musical on a floppy somewhere in this very desk, but I am too lazy to dig that out and paste the words from there--if it is even still useable! In any case, OMG 30 years??? Even for someone like me--who has let her reality and pseudoreality intrude massively upon her remembrance of Freddie--that is a shock to realize.... Anyway, since I am a devotee of the musical Rent these days, this is for all of you and for Freddie: Five hundred twenty-five thousand Six hundred minutes, Five hundred twenty-five thousand Moments so dear. Five hundred twenty-five thousand Six hundred minutes How do you measure, measure a year? In Daylights, in sunsets, in midnights In cups of coffee In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. In five hundred twenty-five thousand Six hundred minutes How do you measure A year in the life? How about love? Measure in love Seasons of love. Five hundred twenty-five thousand Six hundred minutes! Five hundred twenty-five thousand Journeys to plan. Five hundred twenty-five thousand Six hundred minutes How do you measure the life Of a woman or a man? In truths that she learned, Or in times that he cried, In bridges she burned, Or the way that he died. It's time now to sing out, Tho' the story never ends Let's celebrate Remember a year in the life of friends Remember the love! Measure in love Seasons of love! Decanse en paz, angel oscuro! hue_mee 02-04-2007, 10:36 AM I found an ad regarding the Freddie Prinze Memorial Dart tournement.
