This has always bothered me... it's not that big of a deal... but in the opening credits of "The Bradys" the producers chose not to use young Maureen McCormick to potray Marcia in the age transition. Instead they use a little girl that resembles the new actress playing adult Marcia. This bothered the heck out of me because I found it insulting to fans of the original series.

Whether or not they couldn't get Maureen's permission to use her image could have been an issue... but why show this at all? It's like we're supposed to accept that Marcia looked different as a child.

The producers were willing to use the image and flashbacks of young Susan Oleson in "Very Brady Christmas" even though Cindy was played by Jennifer Runyeon. But this was the beginning of a period where Maureen avoided all things Brady. So my guess is that either Maureen didn't give her permission, or she asked to be compensated more than the producers were willing to pay.

I, too, have always found the switch distracting.
