This is a case I know very little about.......I think it might've been solved already......but like I said, the details escape me, so I can't search here and check.....

What I know is in the southeast US, possibly Georgia, a guy and a girl (or just one person) were murdered in a remote park-like setting. They could've been shot......possibly with an AK-47 or similar type of weapon.......the date was somewhere in the late 80's, possibly 1987-89. I remember a vehicle, either the suspect's or victims' as being a dark colored (navy blue?) Honda CRX. Also......the suspect may have been a black male........

Any of this ringing a bell to someone? Or am I just babbling?? ;)

Yeah this is the case of Andy Cook a young man who murdered two victims just as you described. He's currently on death row. From what I remember Mr Cook's own father was a district attorney in the county where he committed the murders although obviously did not prosecute his own son.

The only other thing I remember is that Mr. Cook was a drug addict at the time he committed the murders and was high that evening. He has since made an attempt to turn his life around and deeply regrets his crime. Take that for what its worth

Actually, his father was an FBI agent. But I agree that Andy Cook's father obviously couldn't be professionally involved in his case, even if he wanted to; it would have been a conflict of interest.
