Lawyer Charged For Kissing Co-Worker's Cheek

Man Says Kiss Was 'Merry Christmas' Peck

Posted: 8:27 am CST January 12, 2007

Waterbury, Conn. -- A lawyer wants to know, since when is a kiss at the holidays a crime?

A criminal defense attorney in Connecticut has been charged with disorderly conduct for kissing a female judicial marshal at Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 22.

Ralph Crozier said police told him he was being charged because the woman did not invite him to kiss her. Crozier said it was something people do every day to wish their co-workers and friends "Merry Christmas."

The kiss was captured on security video. Crozier said it was just a "peck on the cheek," and that he didn't intend to annoy or harass anybody.

Crozier, who's 55, is free on $10,000 bond.

I wouldn't want most co-workers to kiss me either, but I certainly wouldn't sue anyone over it. This world is getting so PC, that it's sickening.

That's because we are a "no touch" society in general. Our society doesn't even consider cheek-kissing as appropriateness, even if some other cultures use it as a form of greeting.

The saying I always heard in the law field was "It's only sexual harrassment if the person is ugly."

If they'd been reversed, do you even think there would have been a COMPLAINT? (let ALONE an arrest)

That's exactly what I was thinking. Does anyone know how old this woman was?
