On Sunday nights,Nick Digilio is asking for TC trivia questions for producer Andy "The Count" Hermann, who is a big TC fan and knows a lot of the answers.
They call it the "Three's Company Throwdown".

Send the questions(with the answers as well) to Nick's e mail at WGN which is
wgnnickd@aol.com and I believe all the TC throwdown segments are are audio archived at wgnradio.com
The segment usually airs on the show between 1:30 and 1:45am.

That is totally awesome, thanks for posting this! I just listened to all of them, that guy sure is knowledgable about the show, but a lot of the questions you would know just from watching the DVDs. Do you know if you can send in questions during the week, or do you have to wait until Sunday night? I know I can stump this guy..;)

P.S. I really hope they get Joyce Dewitt on the show like he mentioned..

Yes,you can probably send in the questions during the week. The Count definitely knows a lot about TC. I also hope that they can get an interview with Joyce.

Just a reminder for those of you who want to send questions to tonight's Nick Digilio show on WGN-AM for the Three's Company Throwdown segment with producer Andy "The Count" Hermann.
The segment usually airs between 1:45 and 1:50AM central time.
He says that you can send questions at any time, but I usually like to send mine around 10pm central when his show starts.
wgnnickd@aol.com is Nick's e-mail address and he wants the answers with the questions as well. Although The Count probably will know the answer, sometimes Nick won't choose questions that don't have the answers.

Yes,my questions made it on the air a few times. I asked the questions about Jack in the flower shop in S2,Jack's favorite dish to cook(Coco Van) and some questions about Mr Furley's party game in
'Jack Bares All". I am thinking up some questions to send in tonight.

I just sent some. I will stump him for sure, I think. I won't be up that late, so can you tell me what happens, lol? I can't wait until the archive, lol.

Nick actually did the segment a few minutes ago. Andy was in New York,so he called in and Nick surprised him with the TC throwdown earlier than usual.
He read my questions and even mentioned my name. My questions were about which family members of Jack's appeared on TC and the name of the food critic in S6 "Critic's Choice".
The other question was about the S5 episode "Dying To Meet You" with Max and April, were Jack pretended to be dead. Was that your question? The Count guessed that Terry Kiser played Max and couldn't get the name of April until Nick gave him a hint (that it is also the name of a month).

That's nice, lol. 1:50 AM Central Standard Time is rough... at least for those of us who live in the continental United States and don't make it a habit of staying up that late at night... worse still, for people like me who are on the East Coast, it's like around 3 AM... I can stay up until 2 AM but 3 AM is insane

He read my questions and even mentioned my name. My questions were about which family members of Jack's appeared on TC and the name of the food critic in S6 "Critic's Choice".

Well, those weren't hard questions. Especially not the name of the food critic... who can forget Jason DeFarge? :happyface

Now that would be a harder question! :)

Allright they read my questions, I stumped him on part of one question, and he got my other 2 wrong. Andy got 5 or 6 wrong total last night, so no one is tossing cupcakes up any more.

The questions that stumped him were-1. The Flying Dutchman-ski slope Jack went downhill with Janet/Inga/2. A question on when Jack and Chrissy were babysitting stumped him. 3. The very first word said on TC- Oh-Janet./4. The
last word said on TC-landlord -Jack. 5 Got only half write on question about only 2 black actors to have speaking lines on TC- Fast Eddie in Macho Man(got that write), missed other black love child lady(not credited) in Chrissy and the Guru.6. some song Jack and his father sang? he missed that too. The only question I recall he got right was bar Chrissy they mistakened as hooker-
The Funky Fox. That's the best I recall.

Hey Chuck, Pavan, Bill, and all Three's Comany fanatics in this thread:

I met some heavy competition last Sunday in the Three's Company Throwdown (http://wgnradio.com/shows/digilio_nick/nickdcrew.htm#threescompany), thanks to my fellow trivia masters here at this message board. The difficulty of the questions went way up this past weekend, and i didn't do as well as i usually do. Thanks for emailing us at the radio show!

Just a little clarification on one of Bill's questions...

I did name two black actors who had speaking roles -- Big Eddie in the holding cell, and the doctor Jack saw when he cut his finger (and met Terri). Bill gave Nick the answers of Big Eddie and the bellydancer in "Good Old Reliable Janet". I don't recall the bellydancer being black, nor did she have a speaking role. Yes, the actress in "Chrissy and the Guru" is black and spoke, but that wasn't in the answer that Bill gave Nick. So that makes three black actors with speaking roles on the show.

I also did not get all of the words right on the song Jack sang with his father, but i do feel i got the gist of the answer correct. The first and last words spoken on the show was a great question, and i got kinda close on that.

Anyway, thanks again for submitting your questions... the segment is alot of fun! The Three's Company Throwdown (http://wgnradio.com/shows/digilio_nick/nickdcrew.htm#threescompany) audio from the last two weeks will be available this Friday evening.

Andy,
Nice to see you over here! I am a regular listener here in the Indiana "suburbs" and was happy to promote the TC Throwdown segment here.
You do a great job producing and co hosting The Nick Digilio show (IMO it should be called "The Nick and The Count Show"). How's Broham doing? Miss hearing him on a regular basis.
I am also a Three's Company fanatic and first started watching it at a very young age in its original ABC run and of course have all 8 seasons on DVD. I will be listening to the show this weekend,as I always do(I am a WGN radio fanatic as well!)

Andy,
I actually screwed up the question concerning the black actors. Now
Big Eddie was one of them. The black actress at the doctors office I wasnt aware of. Now comes to my screw up. I was thinking of the love child episode
with good old Rama Mageash -in fact were the black actress dancing and shacking in the regal begal spoke- and I mistakenly thought that scene was in Good Old Realiable Janet were there was a belly dancer there. So I admit an error there. There are so many episodes I'm sure we have all done that at one time or another.

The black actress playing the nurse was in "Chrissy's Hospitality" in S4. She said to Chrissy "I tried to get a hold of your roommates but there was no answer".

Nice catch, Chuck. That makes four actors now!

But the actor i was referring to was a man playing a doctor when Jack cut his finger and met Terri. He gave a technical term about Jack's injury, Jack freaked out and asked to give it to him straight, and the doctor said "You have a little boo-boo."

Also, thanks for all your kind words about the radio show. We're so glad you enjoy what we do! Broham (Mike) is doing well -- we hang out all the time.

Hey Andy, I have the questions ready for this week. I think I've gotten a bit tougher, but I know one is pretty easy, but sometimes those are the hardest to get. Like last week I thought you would get False Aralia easily, but you got the tougher Oxnard one, lol. Good luck this week!

Anyone else have their questions ready yet? Maybe I'll promote this on my website as a news item, so all TC fans around the world can join in!

I just sent my questions in now. Nick was asking for questions tonight, because he thought everyone would be too busy to do it tomorrow because of the Superbowl. Nick's show will be on two hours later Sunday night(12am central) due to WGN's Bears post game coverage, but he still will do the Three's Company Throwdown at the usual time, after 1:45 am central.

Pav,he will still be doing the questions at the regular time tonight, late Sunday/early Monday around 1:45am.
Nick was just asking for questions early, since tonight his show comes on 2 hours later due to Bears post game coverage and he was thinking that the listeners would forget because of the Superbowl(like we TC fanatics would forget,LOL!)

Chuck89

Andy usually posts to the audio archives about a week later. He was a little behind last week since he was out of town, but I'm thinking that it is a good possibility that he will have it posted next week. The Count does a great job of not only updating the audio archives, but he gets photos up of any guests on Nick's show pretty quickly.
Plus,he is responsible for all the podcasts on the WGN website, which includes all the other hosts as well.

Does anyone know what questions were asked this week ?

Chuck89
02-09-2007, 01:09 AM
Nick used a lot of questions this week and had so many that he is holding them for next week's show(which is this coming Sunday night/Monday morning).
He went to Pav's questions first(he said from the dude at Jack's Bistro)which were from the S8 episode
"She Loves Me,She Loves Me Not" including the location of the cabin, who owned the cabin, who filled out the magazine quiz and the name of the magazine.
Andy got the questions right about the cabin owner(Larry's boss)and the 84 year old woman who filled out the quiz. He came close on the cabin location,as he thought it was Big Sur(which is where Rama Magesh's "sanctuary" was supposed to be located in S3's Chrissy and The Guru),but the correct answer was Big Bear.
Also questions about the park in S8's "Itching For Trouble",(Will Rogers Park),S6's "And Now Here's Jack",the name of the morning show Jack,Janet and Terri were on(LA Today).
The Count got both of those questions correct.
Someone posed a question to Nick asking the names of all the female roommates and he knew everyone, except Cindy.
ILoveJohnRitterForever sent questions about the S8 episode "Like Father,Like Son" asking about what Jack was wearing on his head in the picture when he was a little boy(Coonskin hat which The Count answered correctly).
The name of the perfume in S2's "Three's Christmas",which was 1001 Nights(Andy was stumped on that one and the question about the color of Jack's bike in the S1/S2/S3.
opening.
There also was a question about the Santa Monica Pier souvenier shop in the S4/S5 opening, which was called The Beachcomer and finally Philly sent in the question about the name of the actor who played Mr. Angelino(Jordan Charney, which The Count answered correctly).
Andy/The Count will probably post it to the audio archives this week.

Nick had so many questions last week that he held some back for this week, but I also resent mine just to make sure.
The segment is during the last 15 minutes of the show, but it would be nice if Nick would let Andy have an extended TC Throwdown segment one week, using audio clips from TC along with the questions.

I stumped Andy this week good , he went 0 -3 on my questions. I hope were not making the questions so hard that we drove the segment to a standstill at least for now. I think that Nick was getting overwhelmed with the amount of questions being sent in and mentioned something about wanting to focus just on the listeners in the Chicago area.
He even said something like "I'm getting Three's Company questions from people outside of Chicago that probably aren't even regular listeners"(which really irritated me).
I even sent Nick an e mail letting him know that I am a regular listener in the local listening area(NW Indiana)and every one outside of Chicago is probably listening online as well. I suggested that they should at least make it a regular monthly feature if they can't keep it up on a weekly basis.

Having worked in the radio industry for several years this sounds like a decision the dreaded old PD (Program Director) would make and I will tell you why. The one thing a radio personality/talk show host etc wants the most is exposer. In todays internet based society what other better exposer would it be is for someome( listeners) to hear your show beyond your market. Now your getting listeners from beyond your signal reach..they intern put out word of mouth to their friends and your all of a sudden you get more exposer and notoriety thru the internet. Any radio station knows when there getting emails, calls from many people outside the area , they have reached out to a bigger listenership then they would have had before the internet. Lots of radio stations run promos geared to their internet audience recognizing them. My guess is there are thousands and thousands of people on this TC board itself who tooned in, listeners who would have never been exposed to the show in the past. Now put that all together and you 've got some bigtime exposer there. I used to listen to a few hours every sunday night to the last 2 hours of the show on the net cause i found it entertaining, beyond the TC segments. Unfortunately to a PD (or in Howard Sterns case-Pig Vomid) they only care about local numbers and advertising. He probably felt the segment wasnt being geared towards local listenership anymore and didnt want to loose that segment. Lets face it how many local e mail did Andy ever get ? So to make a nutshell of things , someone isnt going to cutoff there exposer line, that call is going to be made from someone on top.
