View Full Version : Who was your pick in the begining of the season to win the Super Bowl? (be honest!)
freshprinceofLA 01-14-2007, 10:59 PM Mine was the seahawks. They had signed julian peterson and picked up burleson and a bunch of other good people. Alexander was coming off an MVP season. Plus I would've thought they were hungry after losing to pittsburg! But I picked them but weren't really rooting for them.
Brian Damage 01-14-2007, 11:05 PM The Colts and the Panthers
Ricky88 01-14-2007, 11:21 PM Colts and Bears with the Colts winning. I can still be correct.
~LadyJess~ 01-14-2007, 11:41 PM Chargers. I was wrong.
mriggles 01-15-2007, 01:02 PM I had the Bengals & the seahawks.... just a little off.
I did do well with my division picks
I had the eagles, bears, seahawks, pats, ravens, colts right. Not to bad!!
Chelsea 01-15-2007, 01:50 PM Well, I had Raiders vs. Lions in the SB with the Lions coming out on top, so no dice
Seriously though, I learned to stop making SB guesses early on a long time ago. (Still, I wouldn't have terribly minded if Jacksonville had won)
Ireneparalegal 01-15-2007, 01:55 PM I ALWAYS FEEL DALLAS WILL WIN. That's being a true fan.

I don't pick my team to win in my official pre season superbowl picks... because The teams I pick NEVER EVER get there.. it is the MR IGGLES CURSE
moeee 01-15-2007, 05:15 PM I really thought the Bengals would have a enough offense to win the SB, but i was wrong.
A lot of so called "experts" picked the bengals.
Bollod 01-15-2007, 05:23 PM I honestly thought the Steelers would repeat.
Barring that, I thought is was the Bears and Carolina.
bandito 01-15-2007, 07:30 PM I honestly thought the Steelers would repeat.
So did I. Cowher probably did his worst coaching job ever, cause he knew he wasn't going to come back........ Good riddence.
Brad Russ 01-15-2007, 07:36 PM I picked the Seahawks vs The Colts, with the Seahawks winning. I'll admit, this was just as much a heart pick as it was a brain pick, since the Colts are my brother's team, and the Seahawks are mine. This would have been the battle to end all battles in my family. Oh well, maybe it'll happen next year, if the Seahawks can keep their current team together, and get/stay healthy.

Roethlisberger nearly killing himself a couple months before the regular season, sure didn't help their chances any. That guy may never be the same again. Last year, he looked unstoppable at times, and wasn't afraid of anything, but since his accident, he looks lie he's afraid to get hit. Didn't he get sacked 8 times against the Ravens earlier this year?? Totally unacceptable!!! Hopefully he can turn things around, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he lost his starting spot sometime next season.
bandito 01-15-2007, 07:44 PM Yeah, and Roethlisberger nearly killing himself a couple months before the regular season, sure didn't help matters. That guy may never be the same again. Last year, he looked unstoppable at times, and wasn't afraid of anything, but since his accident, he llooks afraid to get hit. Didn't he get sacked 8 times against the Ravens earlier this year?? Totally unacceptable!!!You're right Ben looked gun shy this year, hopefully he can work out his problems and have a better season next year.
freshprinceofLA 01-15-2007, 07:46 PM In 2005 I picked the steelers to win the super bowl that same year they lose to the patriots in the AFC championship game. Then in 2006 the steelers win the superbowl. In 2006 I picked the colts to win it all and they lose to the steelers in the 2nd round. They have a chance this year. My picks always take one year to be right. Like in basketball I picked Miami in 2005 to win the championship they loose in the confrence finals and the next year they win it all.

I hope so too. He needs to smarten up in his personal life, and realize that being a QB in the NFL is a once in a lifetime thing, and that he'll have his whole life after the NFL to take stupid chances, and risk his life. I think he should take these next 6 months or so, to get his head and body back together, and come back at 100%. I don't even really care for the guy, but I don't like to see anyone with a ton of potential, mess it all up, and totally self destruct.
Seinatra 01-17-2007, 12:12 AM Dallas v. Colts was my pick. Hopefully the Colts can get there.
The Bengals were my pick to win it at all. Losing 2 starters on defense early in the season really hurt them. Their offense can still score against anybody, but they gave up way too many points and lost winnable games. The loss at Tampa Bay especially killed them.
The Falcons once again started off great, but then faded badly. Hopefully a new coach will inspire them next season. They have all the pieces on offense and defense to make a strong run. Adding an elite WR wouldn't hurt.
