Damn this game would've went into overtime if in the 1st quarter MARTY Shottenhimier went for a field goal instead of trying to convert a 4th and like 10 i believe. It was early in the game to! Also the san diego wide recievers just coulden't hold on to the ball! But I'd probably blame that weak secondary of the chargers. They need a corner back who can actually cover! He complained to the reporter that the Patriots were "disrespecting" the Chargers by celebrating on their field the way they did. (Where ELSE are they supposed to celebrate, are they supposed to wait until they fly back to Foxboro so they can celebrate on THEIR home field?).

Exactly! Don't get me wrong. I'm a lifetime Charger fan and a huge fan of LT. However, I have to disagree with him here. Players mock other players all the time in this sport. It is nothing new to me. He was wrong to say that the Pats were classless because they mocked Merriman's lights-out dance on the Chargers logo in the midfield. Even though he later said that the Pats were the better team, that doesn't change a thing about what he said. I know many Chargers fans will disagree with me on this but so what?

Man, you're so right about the game itself. The Patriots kept TRYING DESPERATELY to give the game to the Chargers, and the Chargers kept giving it right back to them.

And it was in no way LT's fault that the Chargers lost. He played a great, great game.. 123 yards and two TDs.... typical greatness from probably the best player in the game right now.

The Chargers as a team, though, do a lot more trash talking than their actual on-field accomplishments would dictate. They're one of the biggest trash-talking teams in the NFL, and I personally think that doing a "dance" after a QB sack is just as "disrespectful" as anything the Patriots did. But again, the NFL stopped being about "respect" a long, long time ago.

Plus, the Patriots' celebration was not only directed at the Chargers, but it was directed at least that much toward the Chargers' fans. Had the Chargers won, do we even need to speculate what Charger fans would have yelled to the Patriot players as they left the field ? I don't think they would have exactly showered the Patriots with "class".

There is a good argument that the Patriots are "above" celebrating in that manner, that a team with 3 SB Championships this decade should act better. But again, the Patriots acted no worse than any other team acts, even those that have accomplished far less than the Patriots.

I just look at their "celebration" (and LT's reaction) as part of today's NFL culture. I don't like it, but in the "ESPN" era, it's too late to go back to a time when there was genuine respect among and between just about all professional athletes. Those days are gone forever, but they were fun while they lasted.

Had the Chargers not spent the whole week prior to the game trash-talking, I doubt that the Patriots would have acted the way they did.

Ladainan Tomlinson is a crybaby. He shouldn't have been upset about New England mocking Shawn Merriman after the game. It's just a game. The Chargers have themselves to blame for losing. I didn't watch the whole game but my father told me the Chargers gave the game away because they fumbled the ball a few times and made some other mistakes.
