Well I have spent alot of time this week watching the game over & over & over again from earlier this year when the eagles played the saints in NO. I broke it down & looked at every matchup & here are my feelings just over 24 hrs before kickoff.
The eagles came into the last game against the saints on october 15th 7 days removed from a very emotionally hyped game against the cowboys @ the linc. The eagles won that game as we all know & history states that the eagles under andy reid usually are flat as a pancake the next week after playing dallas.
That was certainly the case this game as well, the eagles came out flatter than flat & spotted the saints an early 14 point lead before I blinked.
The eagles will be ready to go this time, I am postive about that. There will be no slow start emotionally this time around. If they do come out flat, this will be a long night for me.
Brian westbrook was hurt the last time these squads got together so he was not 100% & he was not playing at the level he is playing at now. He still had a good game but not what I expect from him tomorrow night.
I think the eagles offensive line matches up very well against the saints front 4, jeff garcia will have time to throw & the right side of the line with runyan & andrews will open up holes for B west & the eagles will put up some points.
I think the eagles offense will be fine, I expect anywhere from 27 -30 points from them. As the case with most teams I don't think the saints have a guy who can handle Brian westbrook.
The key to this game in my mind will be whether or not the eagles get a pass rush on the saints. That game earlier this year, the first 2 series the eagles gave brees all day to throw. THAT CAN'T HAPPEN AGAIN. He will destroy us if he has that kind of time again. As that game went on, the eagles were able to mount pressure on Brees & forced him into bad throws, early throws, etc & it was at this point that the eagles crawled back into that game.
Sean Payton has done a very good job in the past against Jim Johnson Defenses, so I think good old JJ will have to disguise the schemes a little better.
I think this game will be a classic, one that will be remembered for a while. No matter what happens let me go on record by saying, I am so proud of my team, the heart, grit & will they have shown in the last 6 weeks has been amazing & no matter what happens I will hold my head up high!!!!
Early tomorrow morning I will be setting off to an undisclosed location to watch the game. I will have no contact to the outside world, no cell phones, no landlines just me & my EAGLES!!!!!!
Lets go eagles!!!!!!!!!!!
