I was thinking of the episode where Archie and Meathead are trapped in the basement. I was in tears where Archie describes the whole childhood incident. I know it totally shed a different light on Archie Bunker...but that was really moving. Caroll O'Connor was great. I actually felt really sad for Archie.

There were several episodes I found touching. I'll try to list as many as I can remember.
-Edith's Crisis Of Faith: I found Edith's relationship with Beverly LaSalle very sweet especially when Edith gave Beverly the scrapbook.
-Stephanie's Conversion: I know many will disagree with me but I love all of the episodes in the final season. I found this episode touching when Archie gets a Star of David necklace for Stephanie. He shows he accepts her and loves her for who she is.
-Edith's Christmas Story: Irene Lorenzo's talk with Edith always makes me tear up. Edith truly valued friendships.
I forget the episode titles but I also found the scene where Mike and Gloria leave for California touching. And the final scene of the series where Edith and Archie are in bed together and he says he is nothing without her.

And I also enjoy the episode where Archie tries to get Baby Joey Baptized and how on the episode Edith's problem he really seems to try for a while to do the best he can to make things easier on Edith.
The episode where Archie almost has an affair with a waitress because he's
feeling neglected since Edith is spending so much time at the Sunshine Home.
Edith finds out and leaves him for a short time and its very touching when they make up. He tells her he loves her.
