I have a funny story about the song. Since I was born while the show was still on the air (in '79) , I was still fairly little by the time it went off the air. I would dance to the song when it came on the TV and I was very confused by the lyric, "we finally got a piece of the pie". At that young age, I actually thought they meant real pie. I remember thinking "what's so special about that? Have an apple pie, pumpkin pie, or a blueberry pie!". That was back when I took all the song lyrics I heard literally. LOL

I love the song....but i hate that this car commerical is using it to advertise the car....and the lady that is singing it....took the joy out of the song for me....she can't hold a candle to the original singer of the song, Ja'Net Dubois.

I don't think it is the best theme ever, but it is on my top 10.

I like it, but it is way overplayed. Some people know the song, but don't know what it goes too. What is good about the GI theme is you have to know what show it goes to.

Good times themes was suppose to be like the jeffersons theme but only oppesite of the jeffersons. and good times was suppose to be movin on down to the south side.

I think the Jeffersons theme has been mentioned more than any other theme on television. I won't swear to it, but on King of Queens the theme has been mentioned and sang at least three times. I know I have heard it mentioned by other shows.

I've always loved the Jefferson's theme song. It's catchy and perfect for the show. A classic, and definitely in my top five.
