phoebe7165 01-10-2007, 09:58 PM "Castle Walls", a lesser known song by Styx. I remember when I was a kid, we would have sleep-overs at my friend's house, put that song on and turn the lights off. When you're 14, it was very eerie.

Those are very good choices, esp. Snow White Queen. It is so beautiful that it's scary. I would have to say the whole 2nd album is pretty haunting.
Thats the Way I've Always Heard it Should Be by Carly Simon
Ricky88 01-14-2007, 01:03 AM Just Another Day (Without You) ~ Jon Secada
Why is that a haunting song? It is a good song from a talented singer.
How about "Enter Sandman" by Metallica? Now that is haunting.
HaveItAll 01-14-2007, 03:30 PM "Insane Asylum" by the Detroit Cobras. It's a cover I think, but they do it so well.
Janice 01-14-2007, 04:02 PM Just Another Day (Without You) ~ Jon Secada
Why is that a haunting song? It is a good song from a talented singer.
It's haunting to me because the singer is in complete agony, despair and heartbreak.
Towards the end of the song, he's just about screaming at the top of his lungs with a full chorus backing him up...in the video, in the rain, half out of his mind. It's the relentless beat and the way the song builds to an ending of rain, tears and darkness.
Perhaps one has to have been in that dark place themselves to appreciate the haunting quality of the song.

Ireneparalegal 02-10-2007, 06:13 PM The music from JAWS. That famous theme by John Williams. It was so damn scary watching that movie in the theatres and hearing that music, you knew it meant the shark was coming.
Tubular Bells from The Excorcist. To this day, hearing that music it still scares me. I once heard that song on the radio while driving and it kinda gave me the shivers.
Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin.
Cactus Jack 02-10-2007, 07:08 PM You're Beautiful-James Blunt
The video is haunting too,to MTV/VH1,their equivalent of a horror movie is a has-been-British-whiny-voiced singer with an equally,if not more crappy song where jhe takes like9 49378304383908439084340893403 shirts off and sits down for a hwile then jumps in the pool
