The actress who played "Sandy Cooper" on "Wings" is now a recurring character on ABC's "Desperate Housewives", playing the first wife of Bree's husband Orson. While "Sandy" was definitely a nut case on "Wings", her "Desperate Housewives" character isn't playing with a full deck either!

I don't think anyone on Desperate Housewives is sane

Nice to see you posting again, Pilot Guy. Haven't seen you around in ages.

Thanks, Homeriffic.....I haven't been around here in a while, but I plan on dropping in more often. The people here are great!

Valerie Mahaffey fits in PERFECTLY with the "Desperate Housewives" format and cast. Her "Alma Hodge" character can be quite funny (in a strange, slightly demented sort of way), and her scenes with Marcia Cross (who plays Bree....who just happens to be Alma's ex-husband's current wife) are a lot of fun. Alma isn't as "over the top" crazy as Sandy Cooper was (at least not yet), but there IS a definite weirdness there....and she puts on a nice, pleasant front for other people, just like Sandy did on "Wings".

Valerie is slated for at least 5 episodes of "Desperate Housewives" (the first of which was shown last Sunday), and it's nice to see her showing up and "bothering" people again!

This thread should have been titled "I'm Back! Oh and Sandy Cooper is on D.H." Because you returning is more important, lol. I've wondered where you went. I don't post that much around here anymore myself. But back in the day, the Wings board was the best. I couldn't wait to get online and see what we were all gonna say. I miss that.

To the topic, I can't stand the actress who played Sandy Cooper. I liked her character on "Wings" but when I see her anywhere else, I cringe. Don't know why, she's not a bad actress or anything.

I can understand that....I feel the same way about the late Tony Perkins. He was PERFECT as weird Norman Bates in Hitchcock's "Psycho", but when I see him playing a "normal" character in anything else, he just creeps me out.

Ever seen "Lucky Stiff", directed by Anthony Perkins.....hilarious horror/comedy movie. I think his last one before he died. Yeah, I really only liked him in Psycho.
