Just recieved this email from tvshowsondvd.com:

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6797

If this contains any extras which didn't come with the single season releases(like season two commentaries, which I know Barry, Chris, and Susan recorded, but Paramount chose not to use)...I'll be quite peeved with Paramount!

The packaging looks sweet! Too bad I won't buy it since I already have all the seasons

So do I (have all seasons). If they do have new stuff, they should include a cd of all the songs they performed on the show, or have a special feature where they include all the songs in one segment on the dvd. I always thought they should do something like that if this show was ever released.

I don't like the packaging. It looks like a big, shaggy, grass brownie. I wouldn't rebuy all the seasons either.

I only have season one so I might give in if anything new is in here and if it's a good price.

I've been thinking about this and my feeling is that since PHE has already released their standard shrink-wrapped complete series set why would they do it all over again if it weren't for anything more than that disturbing new "art"?

After supporting the single season set releases by buying them I hope this set has no extras otherwise I will feel cheated.

Arrgghhh...now I'm mad. Appears Paramount is putting on some extras, that were not included in the single-season releases.

I'm not concerned with the extras, but if it's discovered they corrected the problems with the few episodes from the season sets, then I will not be a happy camper. I'm not planning to buy the DVD's again. Besides, I don't like the colors on the box. That pea soup green and pink. Yuck. :p :barf:

Well what will happen as always does is, after this set has been out for a little while, the extra DVD will be sold on its own. All the studios do this, they put a box set out with an extra disc and the only way to have it is if you buy the box set BUT,after a few months, they then release that disc on its own.

The only good thing about this extra disc to me is the Brady Kids cartoons. Its surprising Paramount has these because Hallmark is who has the rights to this, UNLESS Paramount bought the rights and at some point will release the complete series. THIS would be wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until the movie is released seperately onto DVD, I'll just continue to enjoy it on VHS.

This seems like an odd set. Only one of the three two hour Brady movies is present. There were 22 cartoon episodes I think and only a few of them are present. What about The Brady Brides?

They released a Planet of the Apes complete set which had all five films, the documentary, all episodes of the live action tv series and all episodes of the cartoon version.

This Brady release seems a bit pointless. The only upside is that Paramount don't seem to have given up milking the Brady Bunch cash cow. Hopefully a complete release of all the tv movies, The Brady Brides and The Brady Kids will follow as a result.

In my view,

It would NOT be cool if they corrected the minor edits on the box set and forced people to buy the box set just for that! Do you think that if Paramount corrected the edits that we talked about that they would also do this for future single season DVD releases?

As the extras are also limited, and it APPEARS that The Brady Kids cartoon is only going to have selected episodes, overall this purchase would not be worth it, unless you:

1.) Don't have any single season disks

2.) Have maybe one single season disk and would want to get the rest in one shot at a discounted price

Brady Bunch fans (or fans of any series) in my view should not have to REPAY for corrected disks (if Paramount is even going to correct the small edits.) when the problem should have been fixed before they started burning the single season disks from the master tapes and back up prints.

That's just my opinion. OK question for the board? Do you think that the complete season box set will have the minor edits from the individual seasons corrected or nothing more than just the bonus material?

I actually decided to wait on buying the BB season sets, for the exact reason that I thought there might be a "complete series" release down the road, with maybe some extras.

However, seeing the extras that will be in the complete release doesn't really impress me.

We already have "A Very Brady Christmas" on tape (which we can transfer to DVD). I don't really care about the Brady 500 or the cartoon series. And I never cared about the extended families. I just like the original series (A V B Christimas is my favorite of all of the return shows/movies that they did). I'm not even that crazy about the Brady Brides (even though I love Jan and Marcia) because I couldn't stand either of the husbands (Wally and Phillip the III).

I like the packaging of the individual season sets, and wouldn't mind just buying them that way. I'll may end up just buying them that way after all.

I do intend to own the complete original series, but I would be more interested in "extras" that dealt with the making of the orignal series, not movies that I don't really care about such as the Brady 500 (after all, this show was supposed to be a sitcom).

Well, what I'm planning to do is to go ahead and buy the complete series that includes all those extras, and sell my original individual sets on eBay. That's my advice to those who have eBay accounts. Bet I'll make some good money off of it too. LOL!

GREAT deal on Amazon for the set right now for those of us who only have one season (even if you have 2 it's worth a look!). The set is currently selling for 92.99 there and apparently the SRP for this set is only 132.99!

Even $132.99 would be a good price for the complete series, IMO. But $92.99 is excellent.

Last night, we were in a "Barnes and Noble" bookstore, and the video section was having an incredible sale. For all TV Show Season Box Sets (ANY series) they had a "buy 1, get 1 free" sale. So I went ahead and bought the entire Brady Bunch series, by individual seasons, along with Season 5 of "Hogan's Heroes". Got 6 seasons of shows for the price of 3. I'll probably head back there this week and see what else we want to get, since it's a 2 for 1 sale, through the end of January.

(For everyone's information, this Barnes & Noble is in Sarasota Florida. I don't know if all Barnes & Noble stores are running a similar sale...but this one was awesome).

How much is Barnes and Noble selling individual Brady Bunch seasons for?

Thanks!

How much is Barnes and Noble selling individual Brady Bunch seasons for?

Thanks!

B & N was listing them for $39.99 each, which came to $36.00 each with my discount card (gives you 10% off anything in the store).

Since it was "buy one, get one" I basically paid $90 for the series ($36.00 x 2 1/2)... getting the sixth DVD set made the average price per set $18.00.

Without a discount, the average sale price per set would be $20.00, so the series would basically cost $100 if you were not a Barnes & Noble "Member".

The "buy one, get one" basically made each series set $20/apiece. This appeared to be the price for just about all of the series sets that I saw (except "The Twilight Zone" full season series had a list price of $120).
I saw that they had full T.Z. seasons 1, 3 and 5 on their shelf.

When I've seen the BB DVDs in stores like Target or Wal Mart, I think I've seen them there for $30/season, making the total series cost $150. And that's actually not bad either imo... I think $30 for a season of a show I like is a good price to pay...I was just waiting for the complete series to be issued as one package because I wanted to see if any worthwhile extras would be included.

Since I didn't really care about the extras that the full B.B. box set contained, I went ahead and bought the series there at B & N.

hey i have a question about the Brady Bunch Special Packaging For Complete Series Set will the box set have all of the seasons from the first to the last, and does anybody think paramount will fix up some of the editing diolage that has not been seen, anyway i hope they do as well as add the original commerical bumbers in your mind what is it that paramount has to really fix up
