In the NEWS AND NOTES section there is a pic of Mike Evans (a beautiful pic) and it has the year of his birth and the year of his death and it states the following:

Evans, who died on December 14, in Twentynine Palms, California, of throat cancer, was best known for playing Lionel Jefferson in ALL IN THE FAMILY and its spin-off THE JEFFERSONS. Lionel could have been a stereotype, but Evans imbued him with charm and warmth. Evans also co-created a portrait of urban black life with the sitcom GOOD TIMES. Star John Amos stated "It (his James Evan role) provided me with a role that was unprecedented." "I will be eternally grateful to Michael for that."

I will miss Mike Evans.He seemed like a good guy.I remember Belinda Tolbert being interview years ago on the Tanya Hart show and he called in.It's ironic that he was only a day older than she was and both are from the same general area of North Carolina.
