I think if that were true I would have read about it at one point or even seen it for myself. Anyone know anything about this? TBS was doing things with GI during the late 80's like TBS Remembers GI and The Castways Quiz so it is possible it was in the works. I am just amazed I never heard of it before.

It said it was never completed, so it could have been in the works.

I am going to email the guy and see where he got the info from. It seems made up.

It seems made up.

Yeah, that was my immediate thought.

During an interview several years ago, Sherwood Schwartz briefly mentioned an idea he had for a new GI project. It involved some offspring of the original castaways (I think he mentioned Professor / Ginger, Gilligan / Mary Ann couplings) and when thier kids get shipwrecked, the remaining original castaways set out to find them. But as far as I've heard, nothing ever came of it.

My guess would be that whomever came up with Gilligan's Island 2, probably heard the same interview.

Well I have found out that this was a real thing. I think I saw the interview you were talking about Caladon. Bob Denver and Dawn Wells mentioned it on the Pat Sajak show. They called it Gilligan's Island: The Second Generation. I am glad that idea didn't sell-lol

now there is a premise that had Emmy written all over it.
