Sorry to ask for opinions but it's an emergency (well to me anyway). I don't want to wake my mom especially at this hour but I can't sleep even though I can't keep my eyes open..So I got up to take a drink of water, and I kept moving from one side of the wall to the next. My hands are soo shaky and I'm sweating so bad. I had my window open, that wasn't doing anything, so I put on the central air (my mom will kill me tomorrow lol) and it's doing nothing. So now I have a wet cloth on my head but it looks like one of my eye lids are swelling. I don't know any of this. I have never felt like this before. Have any ideas on what it is or how I can fix it? The sooner the better. Thanks.

Sorry sweetie sounds like the flu (body aches too?) probably going to be a couple days of hell. I really try to sweat it out however might not be a good idea if you have a fever.

I usually get a cold pack for my forhead, wrap up in a warm blanket and then have a fan on my feet. Body gets warm and extremities are cooled off. I usually take a double dose of Neo Citran but I am not sure you have it in the US. Tylenol can help bring down the fever, other than that the flu is really hard to kick and has to run its course.

Okay thanks!! I will explain all my symptoms to my mom in the morning, see what we can do. I was thinking it was something worse. Thanks!

If anyone else has input, let me have 'em! :)

Do you have any other symptoms, Nausea, sore throat, tightness in your chest (trouble breathing) runny nose?

It could be an allergic reaction as well, have you eaten anything you don't normally eat?

I agree with Lex, sounds like a trip to the doctors office for a prescription will do the trick.

Turn off the central air though. When the cold air hits your sweat, it's only going to make you sicker.

They say laughter is the best medicine so here's my attempt

Is it possible you are having a Ketchup overdose ?

Terrible runny nose. I did have trouble breathing earlier, but once I took a puff of my inhaler, that cleared up.

I'd go to my doctors, but my appointment isn't for 3 months!!

You mean, turn it off completely? :( Yeah I guess so. I could always put a cold cloth on my head.

Hmmm you know normally I'd think that's a possibility, but I didn't have a lot of ketchup today. Maybe withdrawal??

Do you have any antihistamines or sinus medication? If it an alergic reaction (I am wondering now because it affected your athsma) these will certainly help, if it is just the flu then they wont help much but it can't really hurt either.

**** let me add only if you have taken the antihisamines before and are not allergic to those meduications

I don't think so. I'm going to go over all of this in the morning with my mom.

If your athsma gets worse or the symptoms get worse you need to wake your mom up. Hopefully it is just the flu (although it can be absolutely brutal) and will pass. If the swelling gets worse or your athsma triggers again get your mom up.

I really hope you are feeling better soon.

I hope you get to feeling better soon, Kelly. :) I remember about 10 years ago (I feel like Beverly Ann telling all these stories from the past  ) waking up in the middle of the night and feeling awful. I was all sweaty and shaky too. I got out of bed and I got really dizzy and my eyesight got really blury. Then I collapsed. It was really scary.
