I work at a grorcery store and there was a rumor I heard that you might have to be 18 to buy energy drinks now. Drinks like Red Bull and what not. The drink "Jolt" is even band here in VA. What do you all think about this? I don't drink them so I could care less and they really don't sell that much. I think the big reason they are doing this is because someone was working out and then they drank a few right after and died. Again all these are rumors so nothing is for sure right now.

Actually in my first aid course the instructor was an ERT (Ambulance attendant.) He was saying even regular gatorade and powerade is bad for kids because the sodium is meant to replenish what an adult would require during excercise.

I think having an age limit would be a goood idea, these kids are not aware of the warning labels or may not care. We have one here called BooKoo (only at 7-11) 360 mgs of caffiene, thats a triple and a half of esspresso. Can't imagine that would be good for a kid or even teen, hell it isn't good for an adult.

Right now there is no age limit on any of the drinks. I was just saying what if there was.

America is addicted to caffeine. If it's not coffee, it's an energy drink. Or in my case Dr. Pepper or tea.

Caffeine is perhaps more dangerous that any of us realize. But nothing will happen to change peoples habits, in this case.

All energy drinks are is caffeine. If you ban the energy drinks, you have to ban coffee and soda.

My 15 year old son bought a energy drink next to the check-out at a local
video-game store and it made him sick. He's gotten different energy drinks
before and they didn't make him throw-up. So its probably a good idea to
monitor what the kids are drinking, just in case.

Taurine is a major ingredient in Red Bull. I hear it's banned in Canada.
