I don't think today they would have all the weight jokes and the outrageous portrayls of overweight people in sitcoms today like there was on GMB and What's Happening. I guess it would be politically incorrect? They sort of make it that overeight people are these buffoons.

I agree. Today jokes like that would not be Politically Correct. On GMB, the overweight are made to look like desperate buffons who try to lose weight, but jump off their seat whenever food or snack is presented. Not PC by standards of today.
