Stand By Me

It changes from time to time, but as of now my favorite movie of all time is As Good As It Gets Starring Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt.

My favorite movie: Hoosiers. Based on the true story of a rural Indiana high school basketball team from the 1950's, starring Gene Hackman, Barbara Hershey and Dennis Hopper, also Sheb Wooley (who portrayed the school principal) If you don't know who Sheb Wooley is, he's also the guy who sang the 50's pop tune "Purple People-eater".

Well, the movie is good on several levels. It deals with courage, fighting the odds, determination, believeing in people, faith, addiction recovery, second chances, self-discipline, etc.

This theme may seem formulaic to some and has been the subject of many movies, but every time I see it I like it as much as the first time I saw it. If you like this type of movie, but have never seen Hoosiers, I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.
