What made you a MASH fan? For me, it was the episode Kim. I had been kinda forced into watching MASH for a long time 'cause my parents liked it, but when this particular episode came on, I feel in love with it...the humor and emotion....

And now, Kim is on the Hallmark Marathon, and it's just bringing back all the memories of when MASH was my everything!

My parents watched the show first run on CBS, and as I grew up i began watching it too.
M*A*S*H was one of the first shows I remember watching over and over in syndication, and I began to appreciate the humor and drama of the series.

Now to me, M*A*S*H is comfort food. It's a show that I can always watch and enjoy.

Well first of all, I hate dramas. Over the years, there have only been a few dramas that I watch and enjoy. As a kid, I watched television to laugh. So I always watched sitcoms. As a kid, I didn't know what "M*A*S*H" was. I always assumed it was a drama. I had heard that one of the main characters died on the show and I didn't want to watch it for that.

Skip ahead to my teenage years. I'm in 11th grade and my older sister became a fan of the show through the reruns on FOX. I started to watch a couple episodes and enjoyed them. My senior year, I started watching the show regularly on FOX. By this point, I was able to watch more dramatic shows. Even though I still couldn't figure out if this was a comedy or drama. I was watching the Potter-BJ-Winchester episodes. I even bought a big companion book of "M*A*S*H." However, I sort of got out of the show.

When season one was released on DVD, I bought it and loved it. Once I got the third season, I became obsessed. I was watching the episodes every day. I became a fan of McLean Stevenson and Larry Linville. Even though I knew Col. Blake wasn't long for the show, I still enjoyed the show. I bought season four and didn't like it as much as I liked the first three seasons. Nor did I care much for season five. However, it was the opposite with season six. I loved it. As the DVD sets came out, I bought them and enjoyed them. Once the Martinis and Medicine collection came out, I bought it.

I don't watch the show alot these days. Usually when it's on Hallmark, I have it on in the background. However, I can't watch the episodes in reruns, they have to be on DVD for me.

Funny that my sister got me started watching the show and now she doesn't watch it herself anymore. She won't even watch the DVDs.

I still love Gelbart's description of the show: "I write dramas. I can't help it if people laugh."

I was in on the first wave of M*A*S*H, the film came out, and all the "cool" kids were talking about it, and somehow we managed to get in the theater to see it even though we were just into Junior High... things were different back then. Kids could buy cigarettes and simply say they were for their mother or something, and most movies it was just a matter of buying a ticket and going in. The Hot Lips shower scene was kind of like what we'd call "viral" nowadays, but by word of mouth... everyone was talking about Hot Lips and the shower for a week or two there! Then, since VHS or DVD didn't exist yet magazines, comix and paperback novelizations of films were the artifacts, and so the Richard Hooker novel sold millions, and I had mine. A lot of the kids had a copy of that novel, boys had Conan, the James Blish adaptations of Star Trek *which had only been cancelled for aa couple of years at that time, circa 1971 or so) and M*A*S*H while the girls all carried around Love Story and Jonathan Livingston Seagull. M*A*S*H Goes To Maine seems like came out not long before the television series, which was greatly anticipated, although nobody really wanted Fall to come fast, since that meant another school year!
