Id say it would have to be that lame spinoff of Married with children but cant recall the name of it. It ran for only a short time.

Did anyone ever see Murphy Blonde. It was a spin-off of Murphy Brown, and it only ran once on discovery channel, and it starred a grizzly bear.

Maude. I dunno why, but I just HATE it. With a passion. It's one of my least favorite shows EVER

"Childish? Childish? Coming from a grown woman who throws tea parties for her stuffed cat!" -Laverne

"Well at least I don't sew L's on everything I wear!" -Shirley

"Well that would be pretty stupid considering your name's Shirley!" -Laverne

You're probably thinking of the vomit inducing sitcom, Top of the Heap. This show starred Matt Leblanc as Vinnie Verducci, a dumb Italian guy who is also a semi-prof. boxer (hmm...where have we seen this before...*cough* TONY DANZA). I actually remember watching the first 4 or 5 episodes, and everyone of them centered around some stupid plan designed by the father to make them rich, and they always called it the "Verducci Master Plan". The only reason to watch this show was Joey Lauren Adams, who played a horny teenage neighbor who had the hots for Leblanc. Of course, for some ridiculous reason, he would always pry her off of him whenever she would throw herself at him. What a stupid show.

I really enjoyed Maudes 2 guest appearances on AITF. But the Maude tv seris never did much for me at all. I wached reruns in the early 80s late 70s but it just doesnt have the magic that the other spinoffs had.

I think a disappointing spinoff of a great original show was "AfterMASH". MASH was probably the second-best sitcom ever, in my opinion, and this was a real doozy. "Trapper John, M.D." did better, but I think due to the talents of Pernell Roberts.....

The dumbest spin-off came from one of the best shows ever!

It was "Frasier" coming from "Cheers"
I absolutly cannot stand that crop of garbage on "Cheers" there was a little innovation called COMEDY.

100 Percent agreed.
Cant understand why NBC overhypes this so-called comedy?

The Married With Children spin-off, Top of the Heap, amazingly had its own spinoff. It was called "Vinnie and Bobby".
May 30, 1992 to September 5, 1992.
It centered around Vinnie Verducci, one of the leads from T.O.T.H. He was now living without his father in the same house but instead with his friend Bobby.
The show starred:
Matt LeBlanc
Robert Torti
John Pinette
Joey Adams
Ron Taylor
Fred Stoller
Sharyin Leavitt
Colleen Morris
and
Vidal Peterson.

Its really amazing and pathetic how such a bomb of a show could cough up another bomb. hey what can I say thats FOX for ya! LOL

You MUST lump into this category, the horrible, reprehensible, un-funny, horribly-scripted "BETTY WHITE SHOW".

Oh My God! I LOVE Maude! It was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid! And it has one of the best theme songs ever! Love it! My least favorite spin off has to be The Roper's. Who thought up that piece of crap show anyway? Yuck! I hate that show.

And I totaly agree about Frasier, I can't stand that show. I think that Frasier and Niles are just a couple of stuck up jerks who are in desperate need of an a$$ kicking.

Frasier is so funny and even better than Cheers. The worst spinoff is Mayberry RFD.

cp
02-22-2001, 06:27 PM
But if it wasent for Mayberry RFD we would never have gotten to see Andy and Helen get married with Barney as best man. It was funny when he had trouble finding the ring and walks down the aisle with Andy and Helen.
And also when Barney tags along on the Honeymoon.

I like Maude. I like the earlier seasons because they have Esther Rolle in them.

I think Frasier and Maude have great writing and are very funny shows.

The worst spin offs - I agree with the Matt LeBlanc show, The Brady Brides, AfterMASH, and that's all I can think of right now.

THE ROPERS IS ONE OF MY LEAST FAVORITE SPIN OFFS BECAUSE THE ROPERS WERE GREAT AS A SUPPORTING CAST BUT THEY WERE'NT AS FUNNY CARRYING THEIR OWN SHOW.THE SHOW WAS A ONE JOKE SHOW THAT GOT OLD VERY EARLY.CAN ANYBODY IMAGINE FRED AND ETHEL MERTZ SPINNING OF FROM I LOVE LUCY? IT WOULD'NT HAVE WORKED.

I AGREE THAT MAUDE WAS'NT ENTERTAINING BUT I LOVE FRASIER.MAYBERRY RFD WAS OK BUT BORING.

Joanie and Chachi. 'Cause it sucked!

Three's A Crowd was an extremly stupid spin-off. I really liked Jack, but the other characters were so annoying and brainless. There was Vicki and her father. Vicki was a really boring and tastelesss character that was used to cash in on making money, off of a show that everyone knew would fail, during the first 2 seasons, and then get kicked off before they got their pay. E.Z. Taylor was an extremly stupid character that couldn't decide of he was Randy Quaid or Al Pacino, or just some homeless guy from a Dunkin Donuts. What happened to Felipe?

well, obviously this wasn't a spinoff.. but simply a silly parody.

Fish. Actually I never felt the need to punish myself by viewing this so I never watched a single show. From what I saw on Barney Miller, Fish was a very minor character and the jokes written for him concerned him needing to go to the bathroom a lot due to his age. Also, he took much perscription medication again due to his advanced years. I never thought it was funny. Why did the powerful decision makers believe the Fish character would be sucessful on a show that revolved around him? Barney Miller was as popular or even more popular with his character gone.

I agree with a previous post. A spinoff with just Fred and Ethel would have tanked. They were hilarious with the Ricardos, but alone? No way.

I definitely agree with the people who said Frasier. I loved Cheers and I loved Frasier on Cheers, but Frasier alone is annoying and not funny.

RE: ...You MUST lump into this category, the horrible, reprehensible, un-funny, horribly-scripted "BETTY WHITE SHOW"....

The Betty White Show wasn't technically a spinoff from MTM, as neither she nor Georgia Engel played the same characters they played on the Mary Tyler Moore Show. (Although they definitely played the same character *types*.)

But Betty White WAS involved in a horrible spinoff -- anybody remember The Golden Palace?

I didn't like "Maude" either. I agree with everyone who said she was a riot on AITF but her own sitcom wasn't up to par. I like Frasier, I think David Hyde Pierce is hysterical.
I always hated "The Brady Bunch" and thought "The Brady Brides" was ten times better.

The Tortellis, a spin-off of Cheers. It starred actor Dan Hedaya (from the movies "Dick", and "Clueless".)
