Does anyone here remember the short lived show, "Supertrain". It was about a group of eccentric people aboard a train with swimming pools, slot machines, and all sorts of other stuff.

I remember it, but didn't care for it much. The train looked 10 feet wide on the outside and 20+ feet wide on the inside.

Yup. Love Boat, but on a train. Pretty dire. Created by Donald E. Westlake, of all people! (And if you don't know who he is, get thee to a library, and read "The Ax"...)

I hope to see Supertrain if it ever airs. The format sounds very interesting to me http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ohhh, I've heard of it. It cost a lot of money, because I think in one shot they had a special train set, and the entire thing collapsed, pushing them WAY over budget.

I remember hearing about it. I remember hearing that it was really, really, god-AWFUL!!!!

That, and another show that aired at the same time called "Pink Lady and Jeff".

2 of the all-time worst shows that NBC ever aired!

maybe because I thought the train was really "neat" I remember loving this show as a kid and being really sad when it went off the air. But if I saw it today, I would probably think it sucked.

There are some things about the seventies that should beforgotten.

Supertrain is one of them.

One time I used "Supertrain" as a reference in a freaky letter to "The Late Show with David Letterman," that I was originally planning for "Late Night with David Letterman." It was a re-write of "Hark the Herald Angles Sing" that I hoped he'd use on a Christmas-time episode. I fell asleep around the time I hoped it would air, and woke up just in time to turn on my TV to see him finishing his letters, so if Dave read it on the air, I'll never know.
