Unfortunatly, it looks like I will have to wait until other family members arrive so we can open up our gifts together.

Waiting on Christmas morning is just wrong!!!!

Money. Lots of money. And tools. (And I think I got a digital camera, but I won't know for a few days)

(It's a longstanding tradition that I just get cash - when I was little I was rather picky about what I got, and after awhile everyone started just giving me money, and it stuck - not that I mind)

It's nice to read about what everyone else got. :)

I'm very happy with my presents. I watched The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe this evening (I really liked it) and one episode from my Frasier DVD (Perspectives on Christmas) - Frasier is an excellent show!

I intend to watch Stand By Me as soon as possible, and get started on the Mork and Mindy DVD. I also should be getting the first season of Family Ties as a late present.

I'm pleased with the books, as well, especially Journeys Out of the Body. It's all about astral projection, and gives hints and advice on how to do it yourself!

I recieved some very nice gifts today.

Some clothes, like a new jacket and fleece pullover, some themal shirts and warm socks, a very nice overnight bag from my Mother; definatly an upgrade from the bag I usually travel with.

And a Sirrus Stiletto Satellite Radio! This thing is really sweet. it's about the size of an iPod, and it can hold tons of downloaded songs, record programs to listen to later, and best of all, i can listen to Howard Stern again! I got some nice accessories to go with it too. A very good gift.

and the stuff in the other thread. Some of you people got a lot of money spent on you...

Haha, exactly. Sounds like some of these people are pretty well-off, though. I am, kind of, but I'm not the type to ask for some insane $500 item for Christmas or whatever.

I have no need for a $300 iPod *points to ears* or jewelry. I'm a pretty easy person to shop for. I'd feel pretty guilty if someone spent $1000+ on me for Christmas. :faint:

So would I. That bookcase I got was around $250 and I thought that was outrageous. My parents thought it was cheap. O_O

You know, I could really use a bookcase myself, but I'd rather build one myself. I never like any of the bookcases I see in stores anyway so ya know, why not?

Haha, gotta love parents. :D

Here's what I got:

1. A $20.00 gift certificate for Wal Mart, from bro & sis in-law.

2. A mini keychain digital camera, from my mom.

3. 7 Christmas cards (I consider Christmas cards to be gifts, because well, they are, and because I enjoy recieving them. Words can oftentimes be more powerful than anything. One card even brought me to happy tears!!:))

4. A beautiful plaque from my mom which reads: "This is the day the Lord has made; Let us rejoice And be glad in it. - PSALM: 118:24 (It's beautiful, and my favorite gift!! :))

5. Wrestling DVD from my bro, and sis in-law called: Grand Masters Of Wrestling. It's cool, cause it has a bunch of the old school wrestlers from the 70's and 80's on it.

6. A one month free subscription to Netflix, from my dear friend, and S.O.'s person of the millenium, Janice!! :D Thank you sooooooo much my amazing friend!!!

7. My friend Donna has also been working on something for me for weeks, but she won't be done with it till tomorrow, or later. She's such a sweetheart!! :)

I had a great Christmas!!

I only got a few gifts --3, in fact.
USEFUL: my friend, Helen gave me a $20 Target gift card.
A relative, who is notoriously cheap, gave me a $100 cashier's check. :eek2:

WEIRD/CONFUSING: a lamp.
I just moved into a room-for-rent on Dec 1. Moved in with a young couple, and two young daughters. It's been noisy, trying --but when I moved into a FURNISHED place, the lamp was a piece of junk that conked out on me within two days! I had to live in the dark. I ASKED the landlady for a new lightbulb, but could see that the lamp itself was WEIRD :dizzy:  Instead of using a harp, the shade was perched upon the bulb --which would prematurely wear out the bulb, anyhow. Of course, it was only a 50-watt bulb, anyhow, or a worn-out old 100 or 75. The bulb was so faded I couldn't read it.

I had to live in the dark for a week, until I could find time to go buy a new lamp at the Salvation Army, and new bulbs. I found three nice lamps, and the landlady KNEW I had those lamps.

:candle: :stocking: :santa: :cc: :santa2: :tree:
So, on Christmas morning, I heard the kids whooping in joy over their HUGE pile of gifts :woohoo: :woohoo: which my rent money had helped to buy.
I felt quite a bit left out. I knew they were going to have a buffet and friends over, and I had no one, except my mom, who is out-of-it and in a nursing home ( visited her later in the day, but it is heartbreaking ).
So the husband of the house knocks at my door, saying "I have somethuing for you."
Bewildered, I open the door:
"Merry Christmas!" he says :eek2:
I was surprised!! :faint:
I say "Thank you, thank you!" taking it into my room. I had expected nothing.
Then I look at the box, with no gift wrap. It was NEW, from a store.
But it was a LAMP.
WTF?
I had returned that odious broken lamp of theirs, but a lamp was on the lease. Was this a GIFT that I could KEEP or a way of putting a lamp back on the lease?
Maybe the husband didn't know what the wife was up to. Maybe she was just re-gifting a lamp they got but didn't want. Or maybe she bought that lamp, but since I'd bought my own, had not given it to me, until then.
It WAS almost 4 weeks overdue for a new lamp! But she KNEW I had BOUGHT some!

I don't know. Problem is, the lamp is USEFUL --I use it as an extra lamp, for reading. And it's CUTE, too. I won't like being obliged to return it, once I move out, in the future. IF it wasn't REALLY a gift! present:

Ah, damn!
