While I do hope that all of you here are having the best possible holiday, I'm afraid there is a bit of sad news to report. Knowing that Freddie was a great Soul music lover, I'm sure you all know he would be affected by the news that the "hardest workin man in show business" has passed away.

We were so sorry to hear about him. We kids used to listen to his Papa's Got A Brand New Bag song. We had a saying back then in the 60's when the song was out. What kind of Bag, paper bag or plastic bag? Rip...

Sad news and today former President Gerald Ford. We will keep them both in our prayers.

It's funny, but when I thought about Gerald Ford, I heard Freddie voice saying that he wanted to tickle him. That was just such a funny part of his standup act.

I agree with you Dani. I kept thinking about Freddie and his stand up routine about President Ford all day yesterday.

So sorry to hear about Ford. Was the Ford routine on the Looking Good album? If not I'd like to hear that one...

I was at the mall today and noticed that the flags weren't all the way up, then remembered that my hubby found out last night that Gerald Ford died. I was sitting there waiting on my daughter and thinking about Freddie's comments about Gerald Ford from his album.... it is really weird, in a good way, how these memories come to all of us at these times. I was also remembering how Gerald Ford was the only president in our country's history never to have been elected to that office... either as president or vice president.... interesting little piece of trivia! LOL

RIP James Brown and Gerald Ford....
