I always wonder what did A stan for in The A-Team

I read somewhere that the "A" in A-Team stood for Alpha.

I did a google search and found this info on wikipedia:

"The name of the show comes from "A-teams", the nickname for Operational Detachments Alpha (ODA). The US Army Special Forces uses the term ODA for their 12-man direct operations teams."

i thought it stood for Amercia the Amercian team sounds more realistic
