Since Sony is releasing the show, don't expect anything anytime soon. IF a show doesn't sell well for them, the dump it. It took 4 years to release another season of Mad About You.

There's some talk of season 3 being released in February, but that's just a rumor. I won't believe it until I read it at TVShowsOnDVD.com. ;) Here's the forum thread in case you would like to check it out. :)

I wish tvshowsondvd would confirm if this is true. I've been waiting patiently for season 3, I'm tired of being patient.

It's definitely not February, because Sony has lready announced their releases for February and March, The Nanny not one of them. I would think around April or May, but that's just a guess. I do know for sure that a third season is coming. I emailed Sony, and they said season 3 is in the works, but there is no set date.

I have a feeling that Season 3 will be released in Summer 2007. It seems as Sony releases 1 Season every summer. Season 1 July 2005,Season 2 May 2006, so I would think Season 3 wil be out this summer. They need to release them faster.

I have a friend who works for Sony here in Canada and she told me that she was informed Season 3 would not be released. They had stopped production on the DVD. She wasn't sure what the reasons were but we were both dismayed because we're huge fans. I wonder if the DVDs aren't selling well? Amazon.ca doesn't even sell it anymore - it tells you to check other sellers. Maybe peppering Sony with email requests might work? Get to the truth of the matter?

Oh, I hope this isn't true. TN is one of my fave sitcoms, and S3 is one of the best seasons! I asked about this earlier on the TV Shows on DVD board, but no one's replied.

Is there an e-mail for Sony, so maybe we could ask them directly?

Oh please, don't let this be true! If sales weren't so good, then why release season 2? If and when I find out Sony's email addy, I'll be slamming them with emails left and right. This is sooo not right!!

It's been over a year since season 2 was released, I think it's about freaking time that season 3 was released.

I don't think the first 2 seasons sold too well. I checked on TVShowsOnDVD.com and season 2 was released 10 months (May 2, 2006) after season 1. I'm guessing season 3 would have been released by now if they were going to release it. I would sure love to have the entire series on dvd! :(

They'll probably release it sometime . . . just not anytime soon. It looks like Sony now is interested in getting all there first season releases out before they continue with shows like The Nanny. But, both Mad About You, All in the Family, and The Jeffersons tooks more than 2 years for more releases, so we just should be patient.

All I can say is AMEN!! But Sony is notoriously slow, so unfortunately, we have to wait for them to get around to it.

Season 2 came out in May 2006. 2007 is almost over, and still no season 3. There's no excuse at all for that.

Same for me. I wonder how season 2 sold, though. I know season 1 sold pretty well. You'd think there would be a bigger fanbase for this show.

I think S3 would sell pretty well, I know it's one of the fan favorite seasons (well, at least it's one of MY favorite seasons!). Every Monday I hope and pray I'll get an email from TSoD about this show!

I know this is an old thread, but I'm still waiting. I emailed Sony and asked. All they said is that there are "no future plans" to release season 3. :mad: I think we should all email them and drive them crazy until they do it. Who's with me?

I'm not sure where it was on this site, but I read alot of "stalled shows" are being released, I guess sometime this year. I'm hopeful that "The Nanny" season 3 is one of them. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens!

I realize this is an old thread but season 3 was released March 17, 2009. Now I am just waiting for Sony to release seaason 4-6!!
